Carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas that traps heat, which then builds up over
time. Carbon is responsible for two-thirds of the energy imbalance that is
causing the climate crisis. This abundance, longevity, and absorption of
wavelengths explain why carbon is so important in the climate. The atmosphere
is full of carbon dioxide, and the rate at which humans have been
accumulating it is much higher than it has been in the past.As concerns about
carbon dioxide emissions grew, Princeton professors Stephen Pacala and Robert
Socolow began looking ahead to the future of carbon if we continue business-
as-usual. In order to stabilize carbon emissions by 2054, the world must
collectively reduce their carbon emissions by 7 gigatons.base on his wedge
theory. There are 15 ways to resolve it that are available in the market, each
with a different color. Green represents efficiency, yellow represents nuclear
power plants, blue represents cleaning coal plants, and red represents solar
energy. You can use these colors to help show which method will be most
effective in reducing carbon emissions. The impacts of these wedges may be
visualized as a triangle, confined by two possible paths over the next 50 years.
Altogether, this represents the eight billion tons of carbon per year (200 billion
tons by 2060) that we can prevent from entering our atmosphere if we start
making changes now.If | will play the wedge game, a player and a person that
wants to help to resolve carbon emission will likely use different green energy
options. The player might prefer efficiency, since it is the most affordable and
easy to do. Alternatively, the person might prefer green energy options to
address climate change because they believe that it is the most efficient way to
reduce emissions.I don't like using the other color category because they are all
needy to perform and very hard to build. I believe that the best way to solve a
problem is to do the easiest and most efficient way possible, so that everyone
can do it. If everyone does this, we can create a big solution. The video
provides an example of how efficiency can be used in order to improve the
overall efficiency of a car. This can include using all of the available resources
efficiently, as well as optimizing the various aspects of the car. There are some
buildings that have more efficient lighting, EnergyStar-certified appliances, and
better insulation that can help them save energy and reduce their carbon
emissions.Electric vehicles are becoming more popular because they use
electricity to function, which helps reduce carbon emissions. This type of
transportation is better than gasoline or diesel cars, because it’s more efficient
and environmentally friendly.A global commitment to using nine wedges would
stabilize carbon emissions by 2054, subduing a pernicious driver of the rising
temperatures that threaten the delicate balance of our home. The wedge
approach is technologically feasible, but only if governments urged along by
their citizens work in tandem to institute economic incentives and
regulations.Solutions like the wedge approach are beacons of hope,
demonstrating that we do have the knowledge and the technology to build a
viable future for our planet we just need to realize it.
