 Don Timoteo and Juanito Pelaez

 Don Timoteo is a rich greedy businessman who tricks people and taking
advantage of things that would be beneficial to him even if it will lead to
committing heinous acts. Juanito Pelaez is playful and also tricks people.
 In 21st century their characteristics would be similar to modern
businessman who takes advantage of poor people so that they stay on
track.

 Kapitan Tinong

 The friend of Kapitan Tiago, Kapitan Tinong, deserted their family when
they started working with Ibarra. He solely considers how he seems.
 In 21st century he is a leader who clings himself on upper ranking
officials or parties that and when things doesn’t work accordingly he
leaves those people behind.

 Kapitan Tiyago

 Kapitan Tiago is a well-known socialite and a member of the rich elite. He


places such a high importance on being respectable that he swiftly gave
up the notion of Maria Clara getting married to Ibarra, who was hated by
the friars.
 He is a concerned parent who always look after whether his daughter
would be good hands and their success. He would interfere or oppose it
his child’s lover haven’t had a good background.

 Dona Victorina

 The person who identified as mestiza and persistently yearned to marry a


Spaniard was Dona Victorina de Los Reyes de Espada. Everyone in the
community despised her because of her obnoxious looks, her violent
personality, and her strong rivalry with Dona Consolacion.
 She on 21st century would be a social climber who will give up
everything so that she will stays as a member of elite group and only
wants a good and beautiful public image.

 Basilio

 The son of Sisa who Simoun invited to join his revolution, but he declined
since he just wanted to live his life. Basilio is dedicated, sympathic, and
upbeat person. "Basilio" is a man who prioritizes material gains over
opportunities and disregards the importance of opportunities.
 He is a man who will disregard opportunities as long as he has the
money, in modern era he value money over opportunities because of his
past experiences and hardships.

 Sisa

 Sisa the mother of Crispin and Basilio. She is a representation of the


innocence and naiveté of protected local ladies. Some women can still
benefit from some of her traits. She lost her mind while exploring the
neighborhood for her kids. Was mistreated both by her husband and Dona
Consolacion afterwards.
 She is a good mother and will do anything to her children’s welfare, a
representation of a mother who in the modern era knows that her
husband is cheating and being abused but despite that she stays so that
their family is still intact.

 Padre Damaso

 A Spanish friar named Padre Damaso resides in the Philippines. An


arrogant and meticulous preacher, he abuses nonreligious persons who
he believes threaten his authority. He has been among Filipinos for more
than 20 years, yet he seldom speaks or understands Tagalog.
 Padre Damaso is a person who engages in immoral priestly behavior. By
taking advantage of his skills and standing in the neighborhood, he
abuses his power comparable to today's "corrupt" politicians. Whereas we
frequently work on their behalf instead of their benefiting our fellow
humans.
