I. OBJECTIVE
At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:
a. Interpret the message of the story;
b. Know how to deal with disappointments and conflicts;
c. Identify the internal and external experienced by the character, and;
d. Create their own ending of the story.

b. Motivation
Before we proceed to our lesson, I will
group you into 3 groups. After which,
you will predict what the story Bread of
Salt is about based on its title. Write
your predictions in the first column.
And later on we will see if your
prediction is right or not after reading/
watching the story.
c. Presentation
Based on the activity you have done we
will be discussing the Story Bread of
Salt and later on we will look for the
internal and external conflicts in the
story. So, the author of the story is
N.V.M. Gonzalez. He was a novelist, shot story writer, essayist
and a poet ma’am.

Direction: answer the following questions briefly. Put it in one whole sheet of paper
1. What does the young man in the story dream of most? Are his dreams achievable? Why
or why not?
2. What emotions does he go through in the story? Does the story has happy ending? Why
or why not?
3. What is the theme of the story? Does the story reflects events that happen even today?
