Research is nothing but the curiosity within us which motivate us to learn more and more about the
topic and question the facts that are already existing. And when we are learning about the topic
sometimes all the facts and knowledge that we can get falls short to satisfy our curiosity, that urge to
discover the answers to the questions that are arising in our mind which are not satisfied by the
knowledge around us, is RESEARCH. Research is the answer to the questions which arise in our mind
regarding a topic. And we can say that research is creation of new understanding about a topic.
Research is the utilization of already existing knowledge to create a new concept or a new approach to a
topic.
2. Analytical papers – This paper provides the analysis of a topic or an issue. As a writer writing
an analytical paper, you have to analyze the facts of the said topic and work of other researchers and
then write what you feel is correct without showing your own positive or negative takes on the matter.
An analytical research paper implies the use of critical thinking to back up stated facts. The author must
present the facts and try to be as unbiased.
3. Definition papers - A definition paper requires one to provide only visible objective
arguments and facts without the use of personal opinion. It is the most informative kind of research
paper. Definition papers include facts from various sources, although such types of academic papers
only reflect the findings of other researches. When writing a definition paper, the author should avoid
what he/she feels about the facts. Its only purpose is to provide information.
4. Compare and contrast papers - This Comparative Paper is needed to critically analyze
the differences between two subjects, authors, viewpoints, leadership styles, or other criteria. In this
paper first both sides are sufficiently described then stating the comparison between them and
contrasting both the thesis the writer supports the one.
5. Cause and effect papers – It answers the what and why questions which reflects effects
and cause. These results are often used to trace the expected results of some actions in a logically
progressive manner that must be clear and understandable to the reader. This method is often applied
in business and educational fields. This method not only explains the expected results but points at
several different results that could appear depending on the specificity of conditions.
6. Reports – Reports as the name suggests has to follow business formats mostly and mostly these
are written to outline a case study. Report also includes the summary of the issue up to date then it
identifies what the main issue of concern is and breaking down of the elements of the issue and then
stating the issue based on research.
7. Interpretive papers – This type of research paper is mainly done in social science and
literature. This task requires a student to use the knowledge that he/she has gained from the particular
case study, for example, a work of art. This paper has to written based on learned theoretical knowledge
using supporting data to back up your thesis statements.

related to the topic of your research.

5. Then comes the production process where your paper gets evaluated and gets published.
