    Objectives:

    1. To be able to schematically illustrate some of the instruments used in collection and


    determination of rainfall and other meteorological data.
    2. To define the terms used in rainfall and other meteorological data.

    Laboratory activity:

    I. Answer the following questions.

    1. What is rainfall?
    2. Differentiate daily rainfall from event rainfall.
    3. What is rainfall intensity?
    4. Briefly explain the principles of operation of non-recording and recording rain gauge. Make a
    drawing of each type of rain gauge and label the parts.
    5. Enumerate the different factors that affects the accuracy of rain gauge.
    6. What is air temperature? How does maximum and minimum temperature is determined?
    7. What is humidity? How is this parameter measured?
    8. Differentiate anemometer from wind vane.
    9. What is an evaporating pan?
    10. How is evapotranspiration determined from evaporating pan?
