Brake accumulator, description


The accumulator is a small tank with a gas-filled rubber bulb.
Brake accumulators are pre-charged with nitrogen and charged by the brake/steering pump when the engine is running.

The function of the brake accumulators is to store pressure and to safeguard braking in case of engine stop or pump break
down.
The service brake is divided into two independent brake circuits therefore one accumulator for each brake circuit.
The accumulators have a pre-charge pressure which is indicated in the main hydraulic diagram, see Hydraulic diagram, complete
