Leadership Style

Leadership is one of the most important things managers should be

able to do, and there is a lot of ways and techniques to lead people in
the workplace.
First, the best way to choose a leadership style is to know yourself, and
know how you can manage the people you work with. Search for the
best available methods that can be effective for you and your team,
and you must understand the different styles.
We are going to be mentioning some of the leadership styles. But we
are going to be mainly focusing on one style in this project, which is the
style that the leader we chose “Yousef Abdullah Al-Bassam” uses.

Some of the most famous leadership styles are:

1- Autocratic style: a leader who dictates work methods, makes

unilateral decisions, and limits employee participation. It is
basically the leader that does not care about what his employees
think about his decisions and does what he thinks is best.
2- Democratic style (which is the one our leader “Yousef
Abdullah Al-Bassam” uses): a leader who involves employees in
decision-making, delegates authority, and uses feedback as an
opportunity for coaching employees. The democratic leaders are
most likely to share information with employees, take their
opinions and benefits from the feedback that employees give him
about some decisions. This leadership style has a lot of benefits
that we are going to be mentioning at the conclusion.
3- Laissez-Faire Style: a leader who lets the group make
decisions and complete the work in whatever way it sees fit. This
style of leadership is almost the opposite of the Autocratic style.
Out of all the leadership styles, this one requires the least amount
of oversight.

The leadership style our leader chose: The Democratic style.

This leadership style was the best among all the leadership styles,
and had a lot of benefits. Such as:
- It makes all the employees become involved in the decisions,
not just the leader himself.
- You can make employees trust you and have more respect to
you.
- It makes team spirit rise really high because they all are
involved in decision-making.
- This leadership style allows for creativity and helps employees
grow and develop.
Also, the Democratic Style can save up a lot of time because
processing decisions is time-consuming, and in this style,
almost all the employees are involving in the work and
decision-making that is happening.

To conclude, every manager or “Leader” has his own unique

way of leading, Not everyone is the same. You can use a
leadership style that is good for you and your company, but
when someone else uses it, it does not work for them. The
Democratic Style was the one that was most suitable for our
great leader “Yousef Abdullah Al-Bassam” for the reasons
written above.
