Crear tarea en classroom


Desarrollo 00:35 2.Arrange the class in pairs or small Crear tarea en classroom
groups. Give a rough map of the
school to each pair. On this map do
not put the names of the buildings,
classrooms, special classrooms,
schoolyard (playground), gym, offices,
etc.
Give another sheet of paper to the Ss
bearing a series of instructions to
follow.
The instructions should lead them to
different places within the school in
different order.
Tell the Ss that they should follow the
instructions until they have gathered
the names of all the places.

Example:
Give a set of instructions that lead
from the classroom to the Principal’s
(Headmaster’s) office. The Ss mark
on their map the Principal’s office and
put a number 1 on it.
From there, send the Ss to the
cafeteria.They mark it on their map
and put a number 2 on it. Have them
repeat the process with other
locations.
Depending on the size of the school
chose the number of places to go.
Make sure to have several sets of
instructions so that the Ss don’t’ go all
together from one place to another.
Tell the Ss that the first pair to return
with the correct names of the
placeswill win a prize(five minutes
more of recess, a chocolate bar or
something like that).
Have a list of the different routes with
the correct answers and have each
instruction paper marked with the
number of the route so you can check
that the Ss have the correct set of
places.
Tell the Ss that they have 25’ to
complete the route.
Use the last 10 minutes to check with
the group.

Desarrollo 00:35 2. Give the Ss a copy of a street map Crear tarea en classroom
(doesn’t need to be local) with some
locations marked on it, and a simple
scale of 1cm = 1 km. Give the Ss a
piece of string to measure with. Ask
the Ss to find the distances between
locations by measuring with a piece of
string then lining the string up on a
ruler. Using the scale the Ss can work
out the distance. Ask the Ss to mark a
5 km bike circuit on their map. Ask the
Ss to write instructions for their bike
route. Encourage the Ss to use
compass directions of N, S, E, W and
turns to the left or right in their
instructions. Ask the Ss to work in
pairs and swap their bike route
instructions and then compare the
routes.
