Ang Bahay Kubo nina Bamba at Bimbo

Kambal sina Bamba at Bimbo at sila'y kapwa nasa

Unang Baitang. Ang bahay nila ay nasa gitna ng bukid.
Napapalibutan ito ng iba't-ibang punongkahoy gaya ng
bayabas, bignay at banaba. Dahil magsasaka at masipag
ang kanilang mga magulang, marami silang pananim na
gulay tulad ng bataw, kalabasa, bawang at iba pa. May
alaga rin silang baka, baboy, manok at kambing. May
mga halamang-bulaklak din sa harapan ng kani-
lang bahay.

3. Anu-anong punongkahoy ang makikita sa paligid ng
kanilang tahanan?
4. Ano ang hanapbuhay ng kanilang mga magulang?

 Here Comes the Band
Here comes the band! Should we call mother and
Fanny to see it?
Let us stand still and hear the men play as they pass.
I hope they will stop here and play for us.
See the large man in front of the band with his big
hut? What's he holding in his hand? How fine he looks!
Look too at the man on that fine horse!
If the men do not stop, let us follow them and see
where they go!

 The Bee
“Come here Lucy, and listen. What is in this flower?”
“O Mother, it is a bee. I wonder how it came to be
closed in a flower?”
“It went into the flower for some honey, and maybe
it went to sleep. Then the flower closed in.”
“The bee likes honey as well as we do, but it does
not like to be closed in the flower.”
“Shall we let it out Lucy?”
“Yes, then it can go to other flowers and get honey.”
