    I AM THE TREE

    I am a tree. I have a life and feelings. I can also dance when the wind strikes me. I can live longer than
    you can imagine. I provide oxygen, improving air quality, climate amelioration, conserving water,
    preserving soil, and supporting wildlife. Without me, the world would become drier and more
    susceptible to extreme droughts. Help me and let me live in this wonderful world. I help you provide
    shelter and some of your basic needs. I expect the best I could convey to you would be some shade or
    possibly even fruit. I might be able to protect an area that’s important to you from erosion and give it
    some oxygen to breathe. And if you needed lumber or paper, I expect I could convey that to you through
    the sacrifice of my life. Protect me and help me, as I will protect and help you breathe fresh air as well.
