2. Report: First Draft
Many times in life, we argue with friends and although in most cases, the problem can be
solved in a short time, there are friendships that break in a painful way. If this has ever
happened to you or is happening to you, I recommend you read on. In the following lines, you
will find some practical and recommendable ways to know how to mediate a conflict
The main thing we must do to resolve conflicts between our friends is to be clear about the
real reason for their disagreement; once we know this, we can begin to look for the best ways
to help resolve the conflict between the parties involved. Also let them know that there are
ways to solve the problem. Some people have in mind that the only way to deal with
differences is through aggression and violence; they are not very tolerant of frustration. Talking
to each of them individually, you should explain what are the other ways to solve an existing
conflict. Ask your friends how they feel about the situation. This will give them a chance to
reflect on the behavior they are engaging in, and they will be more likely to realize their
mistakes and want to correct them. They will probably ask you for advice on how to resolve
Even if it is not always said, it is important that you always remain impartial in your efforts to
reconcile the parties involved in the conflict. Otherwise, instead of calming things down
between your friends, you could further escalate the personal quarrel. The best thing to do is
to show them that you can accept each other's points of view without taking sides. Something
that is totally contrary to the intention we have to make our friends reconcile in a good way is
to try to do this process in a rushed and forced way. It is advisable to understand that your

friends may need some time to reflect on what may have happened. It is common that
during fights people only focus on the negative aspects of the other, and even magnify them.
Your role as a friend mediator of the conflict will be to recognize and diminish the biases that
exist between the parties involved, so that they can remember the positive things about each
other.
Finally, in the event that they have unsuccessfully tried everything in their power to keep their
friendship going, we must know that they will overcome their differences and resume their
friendship, we must accept their personal decisions and avoid taking an insistent stance on
making them change their minds. Each person is the owner of his or her own decisions, and
we must not forget that no one is obligated to continue investing efforts in a relationship,
whether it is a friendship, love or business relationship. While any conflict can technically come
to an end, that doesn't mean that striving for ultimate reconciliation is the best way to spend
your time.
In conclusion, if you have a problem with a friend, talk to him or her about what caused the
fight and how you feel about it so that you can talk about it. You can also take some
problem-solving steps to put an end to the conflict. If you're both very nervous or emotional,
taking a little distance may help you clear your head so you can reevaluate the situation.
