Steve Howard, the chief sustainability officer at a furniture Ikea, has shown his quest to introduce eco-

friendly materials and products to Ikea’s customers and corporate culture. He urges business leaders to

weave sustainability right to the center of their business models, in order to create a sustainable world

making it affordable to many people at the long run. From his own word’s Steve claims, “Sustainability

has gone from a nice-to-do to a must-do.” I think Steve’s idea towards sustainability is very possible. He

has presented beautiful ideas like use of solar panels and wind turbines, and instead of using power

consuming bulbs, he advocates for LED lighting. I think it would be cheaper and more sustainable for

people, and we should be moving towards that direction. One of the most important concepts of Steve

Howard’s message towards sustainability is that we have the role as human in this world, as we witness

climate changes, scarcity of resources, inequality and many more problems.
