Reflection on Essay 3

At last, the semester is coming to an end. The last essay was one of the easiest to do. Due

to my experience reading scholarly articles, finding all the information I needed was a breeze.

For the most part, I hadn't used any of the skills learned during the first two essays. This essay

was unique in the way that it was more about what another author says, rather than what I as an

author think, Rather try to come up with a message, I had to analyze if a message was effective

in a rhetorical sense. While technically I hadn’t used my prior knowledge on this essay, I did

learn a lot during this essay. When it came to psychology most of the essays I’ve written were

garbage. Now I have refined my skills when it comes to scholarly writing and believe that I’m

ready to tackle the science world. While I did mention that this essay was one of the easiest, one

of the hardest parts of this essay was how easy it was.

I would write almost 300 words a day, staring at my wall, and say “Man this is going to

fast.”. After that, I would take rest for a day or two and then continue writing. This got too

frequent to the point where it was already the 2nd draft and there was no time for editing. I was

very fortunate for this essay with how well I did. I saw many of my piers that are much more

better at writing struggle with the topic of ethos pathos and logos. As a writer, I noticed that not

everyone is perfect. While I might’ve struggled throughout the semester with writing and coming

up with ideas, so did my peers. All around me were people my age getting their work done. We
all shared our struggles and worked together. This course was one of my favorites and I simply

cannot wait for the next semester.
