Directions: Now, it is about time for you to use your knowledge about
language used in academic texts. Write a three-paragraph essay on the topic that is
related to the strand that you are taking in your Senior High School

STEM is a strand that stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and

Mathematics that offered in K-12 program during senior high school. It emphasizes
research, problem solving, critical thinking, creativity, communication and
collaborations that will help and guide students through their journey on choosing a
career path. In addition, it also integrates students into a cohesive learning paradigm
based on real-world applications.

This strand gives senior high school students exposure to the disciplines to
see how they work in real life. Students who have chosen this strand develops a
keener sense of creativity and ingenuity, which is essential in coming up with new
ideas and innovations. They can also be more inclined to experiment and be able to
apply the knowledge that they learned in class in everyday scenarios, most
especially in their future courses.

By the end of students’ senior year in STEM strand, they finally know about
the power and importance of technology, especially in today’s era. Together with
encouraging teamwork so they can find solutions to problems, organized
brainstorming, write and discuss reports, give presentations and more. Furthermore,

A. Infection after consumption of fresh duck blood and undercooked poultry

products has been suspected in some cases of illness. Indeed, transmission to felids
was observed after experimental feeding of infected chickens to domestic cats, and
feeding tigers raw infected chicken led to outbreaks of illness in Thai zoos, in which
felid-to-felid transmissions were also implicated. Infected birds shed high
concentrations of virus in feces. Direct intranasal or conjunctival inoculation while
swimming in contaminated water or, perhaps, inhalation or ingestion of water could
have been potential modes of transmission to some H5N1– infected patients. As for
human influenza, hand contamination from fomites and self-inoculation into the eye
or upper respiratory tract remain possible modes.

shown that peer response can increase chances for meaning negotiation and
language practice (Lockhart & Ng, 1995; Mendonca & Johnson, 1994), encourage
collaborative reading and writing (Tsui & Ng, 2000), and promote writing revisions
(Berg, 1999; Mendonca & Johnson, 1994;; Min, 2006, 2008; Stanley, 1992). These

Colourful Personality
Nobody really knows about who you truly are except for youself. There will
always be an information about you that even the closest to you doesn’t know a hint.
Every color describes something, it can be a shape, order, character or
personality. Let me introduce myself by characterizing my personalities in colours.
First is the colour white, it represents my soft side at everything, peaceful mind, focus
and light hearted. Pink as my “kikay” self, me being a caring and loving person.
Orange to my devotion at always be my frineds side whenever they need me and my
advices. Next is the colour red, my independency and strong willed personality.

Black for my love to mystery, unexplainable things and unsovle cases. Gray to
my love on being alone and just having a peace on my own world. Teal as me being a
nature person. Pale blue for my childish self who still loves to watch cartoons at this
age. Blue for my adventurous and curious self who always wonders how things got to
their places and roles, also to my love at online games.

Lastly, the colour rainbow, this took me a lot of courage to share at other
people but I am just really proud to be a bisexual perosn. It is a huge relief to me to
finally know myself after being lost at so many years.

A little advice that I am proud to share is don’t be afraid and hesitant to find
your colours and what traits to they represent to you as an individual. We all have a
different personalities to fit at any colour, you just need to figure it out.
