“Don't waste time, lost wealth may be recovered but time lost is lost forever “
Unfortunately, most individuals fail to realize the importance of time until the later years of life. Unlike
money that can be spent and gained, and opportunities that can be lost and replaced again. Time,
unlike the superficial things in life, once time is lost it is gone forever.
So, why do many people take time for granted? And why is time so precious?
Based on the phrase “ time stands still for no man” it is clear that time doesn't stop for anyone. Until a
certain age, time runs slow, yet how is it like this when time itself is constant?
When we are young, it's common to imagine how much we can accomplish each day, each of which will
be something enjoyable, exciting, and potentially different, but as time passes and as we grow older,
everyone and everything falls into a rhythm. Seasons become seen in cycles, days are filled with
routines, and tasks we do, whether necessary or not, take longer. Each week, we see the days pass
until the long-awaited weekend hits, which is our time to do what we want or what is needed, but after
each weekend, another week starts and the cycle repeats itself. In these cycles, we become
accustomed to what we do and where we go, it's what makes time seem so fast. We ourselves become
part of the rhythm, and most of us don’t do much else until we realize time has slipped past us and we
are no longer our past selves. No amount of money can get this back, and time passed will stay in the
past. Although no amount of money can bring us to the past, it can be a medium to help us have a
better future.
Life does not have to be this way, despite one's indifference to the cycles of life. We need to savour
each moment as much as we can in order to slow it down. Realizing how much there is in our lives and
how much we can do helps us to appreciate it. To avoid joining the loop, we can attempt a ton of
different things and always switch them up. Even if we might not succeed with some of them and we
might make mistakes, we can only criticize ourselves once before we must move forward again. With
time comes experience and lessons, which can never be gained through any monetary value. Loss,
gains, and profits are not only limited to money, but also time and life. Losses are temporary, as we can
always pick ourselves up after and gain something from it, but living past it all, using what we’ve
learned, and passing it down is the profit. Time cannot be stopped, but we can make the most of it by
