Ⅲ Japanese sentence: Robot No.1
“ DESU” robot. TUPV versions.
安田式
(1) Topic of the sentences are persons.

Yasuda sensei says: Look at the pictures below.

They are the parts of the Japanese language robot.
There are some tools for assembling a robot.
Let’s assemble. Make a Japanese sentence.

Parts of the body:

Head: “ATAMA”… Topic of the sentence(subject)

Persons, things, animals can be “ATAMA”

Body:“KARADA”…What the speaker wants to talk about.

Inside the body, there are many things….

Legs: “ASHI”…These are “DESU” legs.

Ninja kun explains about grammar: “DESU”

Nouns used with “DESU” is work as predicates. Besides indicating judgement or
assertion, “DESU” also shows politeness towards the listener.
“DESU” inflects when the sentence is negative or in the past tense.
Tools: 1

“WA” wrench: “WA” … “WA” connects the head and the body..

Ninja kun explains about grammar: Particle “WA”

“WA” is put after the topic of the sentence.
The speaker forms a sentence by adding “WA” to what he or she
wants to talk about, and then makes a statement about it.

Tools: 2

“NO”glue: “NO”… “NO” connects 2 nouns. Noun1 NO noun2

( Sometimes more than 3)

Ninja kun explains about grammar: “NO”

When a noun 1 modifies a following noun 2,
“NO” is used to connect the two nouns like glue.

This is the blueprint of “DESU” robot ver.1.

“WA” “DESU”

Yasuda sensei says: “DESU” robot has no hands this time.

Later you use soon.

Yasuda sensei says: Let’s assemble!
When you make a sentence, think in Japanese.
