I. LƯU Ý KHI VIẾT WRITING PART 2

- Cố gắng sử dụng đa dạng từ vựng, đặc biệt là từ vựng theo chủ đề
- Cố gắng sử dụng đa dạng cấu trúc ngữ pháp. Nên sử dụng câu phức (complex sentence) hoặc
câu ghép (compound sentence).
+ Complex sentence: although, but, however, when, while, etc., relative pronoun (who,
which, whom, whose, that)
+ Compound sentence: and, or, so, not only….but also
- Chú ý về sự thống nhất về thì:
+ Kể/Miêu tả về sự kiện trong quá khứ: chỉ sử dụng các thì quá khứ ( đơn, tiếp diễn)

Topic 1: Describe your house
I am living with my family in a small house in Nam Dinh. However, it is still a beautiful house
with four rooms. The biggest room in my house is the living room where my family often
watch TV together in the evening. There is a television, a sofa, a table and a big painting in
this room. The room is beautifully decorated, so I love spending time here. On the left of the
living room is the kitchen. This is the place where my mother and I cook delicious meals for my
family. The kitchen is not too big but very tidy and clean. Opposite the living room are two
bedrooms. My bedroom is next to my parents’ one. My bedroom is smaller than my parents’
room, but it has a big window which offers me a lot of natural light. Therefore, I love studying
and relaxing in my room. Although my house is small, I love it so much because my beloved
family is living here.

Topic 2: Describe your daily routine. (2 samples)
My day often starts at 6 am. After getting up, I usually do some morning exercises because I
want to keep fit. Normally, I have breakfast at 6.30 am, and then I go to school. My lesson
often starts at 7 am and finishes at 12.15 pm. In this semester, I am learning English and Maths
in the morning. When my lesson finishes, I usually go home and have lunch with my roommate.
In the afternoon, I always do my homework, and play sports. Normally, I spend an hour from 5
pm to 6pm doing sports. Going for a run in the park near my house is my favourite activity
which I do every day. In the evening, I have dinner at 7.30pm, and then I watch my favourite
TV programme for an hour. After watching TV, I read the textbooks to prepare for the
following day at school. I usually surf the Internet and Facebook before going to bed at
11.30 pm. My day is full of joyfulness because I always have something new to do.
As a university student, my daily routine can vary depending on my class schedule and
workload. However, I generally wake up around 7:00 a.m. and start my day with some light
exercise and breakfast. After that, I usually attend morning classes, which typically run from
9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. In the afternoon, I might spend some time studying in the library or
working on assignments at home. I also like to take breaks to have lunch with friends or grab
a coffee at a nearby café. In the evenings, I often join extracurricular activities or events on
campus, such as club meetings or self-development workshops. I usually try to get things done
before bedtime, which is usually around 11:00 p.m.

Topic 3: A typical day at university (2 samples)
As a university student, I often go to school from Monday to Saturday. I usually spend the whole
day at university. In the morning, I have two different subjects, each of which lasts 3 periods.
The first class always starts at 6.45 am and finishes at 9.25 am. Normally, I have ten –minute
break before having the second class. Because the break is short, my classmates and I often stay
in the class and have a chitchat. My second lesson usually finishes at 12.15pm when all of us feel
very tired and hungry. In the afternoon, I go to the library to read books and do research for my
lessons. Normally, I spend two hours doing those. If I like, I can spend the whole afternoon in
the library. My school day ends when I leave the library and go home. Overall, although my
university schedule is quite busy, I’m always happy with it and excited about a new day to come.
As a university student, my typical day starts early in the morning. I wake up around 7:00 am
and have a quick breakfast before going to school. Most of my classes start at 8:00 am, so I try to
be on time. I spend most of my day attending lectures, taking notes, and participating in class
discussions. During the breaks between classes, I have a quick lunch with my friends or work on
assignments. After classes, I usually visit the library to study or work on my projects. In the
evenings, I attend club meetings or social events on campus. By 10:00 pm, I usually return to my
dorm room, getting ready for bed and preparing for another day. Overall, my days at university
are busy and challenging, but also exciting and satisfying.
Topic 4: Describe your hobby/free time activity (3 samples)
As a university student, I am quite busy with classes and studying, but I also try to spend time on
hobbies that I enjoy. One of my favorite hobbies is playing sports. I love staying active and being
part of a team, whether it's playing basketball, soccer, or volleyball. Another hobby I enjoy is
music. I like listening to music and playing some musical instruments such as guitar or piano in
my free time. Lastly, I love reading books and watching movies. It's a great way to unwind and
escape from the stresses of university life. These hobbies allow me to have fun, relax and learn
new things outside of my academic studies.
As a university student, I have a variety of hobbies that I enjoy in my free time. One of my
favorite hobbies is playing sports. I find it both fun and a good way to stay active and healthy. I
also like to explore new places and try new things, such as trying new foods or visiting a new
museum. In my free time, I enjoy reading books and watching movies. It's a great way to relax
and unwind after a long day of studying. Lastly, I love spending time with my friends, whether

One of my leisure activities is photography. I love taking pictures of people, places, and things

maybe even finding a nice spot to study or read a book in the fresh air. It's also a great time to
meet up with friends and have a picnic or play some outdoor games. In short, I find that when

studies.
As an energetic and dynamic person, my favorite weather would be sunny and warm with a

grass or going for a walk with friends. I also love the gentle breeze, as it keeps me cool and

Topic 6: Describe your favourite season (2 samples)
My favourite season is spring. In the spring, I can witness the beauty of nature around me when
the flowers bloom and the trees turn green after a long, cold winter. The weather is not too hot or
too cold, and it's perfect for spending time outside. I enjoy going for walks in the park or having
picnics with my friends. Moreover, this season makes the daytime last longer, so I get more
things done and still have time to relax. I feel that spring is like a time of refreshing and new
beginnings, and it always puts me in a good mood. All in all, spring is definitely the season that I
look forward to each year.
My favourite season is autumn. I love the beautiful colours of the leaves as they change from
green to yellow, orange and red. The cooler temperatures in this season are also perfect for
wearing cozy sweaters and a light scarf which are my favourite types of clothes. The weather is
also great for my favourite activities such as going for a walk or cycling. While doing them, I can
breathe the pure air to have more energy and power. It's also a great time for warm food and
warm drinks like hot chocolate and soup. One more thing I love about autumn is the peaceful
atmosphere, which is great for staying focused on my studies. Overall, I love everything about
autumn and it's definitely the season that I look forward to each year.
Topic 8: Describe the summer in Northern Vietnam
Summer in Northern Vietnam is hot and humid. Temperatures can reach up to 35 degrees
centigrade, and it can be very uncomfortable to be outside during the middle of the day.
However, there are also some benefits to the summer weather in Northern Vietnam. The rainy
season starts in June, which cools down the temperature and makes the air feel fresher. At this
time of year, the plants are also very green and fresh, and there are many beautiful rice paddies
and mountainous landscapes to explore. It's a great time to spend time on the beach and the
waterfalls in the area. Overall, while it can be hot and humid, summer in Northern Vietnam is a
great season for people who want to explore natural landscapes.

inspires me stay optimistic and not to give up no matter what challenges happens to my life.
Also, she is a very wise person and has taught me many valuable lessons about life. I love
spending time with her, listening to her stories about the past and learning from her experiences.
