Hiện tại Đơn

a/ Cấu trúc
– Với động từ TO BE, thì Hiện tại Đơn cho 3 dạng của TO BE như sau: AM với đại từ I, IS với HE/SHE/IT, ARE với
YOU/WE/THEY.

 (+) S + am/is/are + O
 (-) S + am/is/are + not + O
 (?) Am/is/are + S + O?
– Theo sau TO BE là danh từ, tính từ và đại từ. Ngoài ra còn có thể có mạo từ, phân từ, trạng từ, số từ tùy trường hợp.

Eg: She is tall, her sister is short. (Cô ấy cao, chị cô ấy thì thấp.)

He is a teacher, I am a writer. (Anh ấy là thầy giáo, còn tôi là nhà văn.)

– Với động từ thường, chúng ta dựa vào chủ ngữ để cho dạng đúng của động từ: Số ít với HE/SHE/IT, số nhiều với
I/YOU/WE/THEY.

 (?) Do/Does + S + V?
Eg:

 They like tea. (Họ thích trà.)

 They don’t like tea. (Họ không thích trà.)
 Do they like tea? (Họ có thích trà không?)

b/ Cách dùng

 Dùng để diễn tả thói quen hoặc những việc thường xuyên xảy ra ở hiện tại. Eg: We go to work every day.
(Chúng tôi đi làm mỗi ngày.)
 Dùng để diễn tả những sự vật, sự việc xảy ra mang tính quy luật. Eg: This festival occurs every 4 years. (Lễ
hội này diễn ra 4 năm một lần.)
 Dùng để diễn tả các sự thật hiển nhiên, một chân lý, các phong tục tập quán, các hiện tượng tự nhiên. Eg: The
Earth moves around the Sun. (Trái đất quay quanh Mặt trời.)
 Dùng để diễn tả lịch trình của tàu, xe, máy bay,… Eg: The train leaves at 8 am tomorrow. (Tàu khởi hành lúc
8 giờ sáng mai.)

c/ Dấu hiệu nhận biết

Trong câu thường xuất hiện những trạng từ sau: ALWAYS (luôn luôn), USUALLY (thường thường), OFTEN
(thường xuyên), SOMETIMES (thỉnh thoảng), EVERY DAY/WEEK/MONTH/YEAR (mỗi ngày, mỗi tuần, mỗi
tháng, mỗi năm), ONCE/TWICE/THREE TIMES/FOUR TIMES…A DAY/WEEK/MONTH/YEAR (một lần /hai
lần/ba lần/bốn lần…một ngày/tuần/tháng/năm).

Eg:
  I listen to music every day. (Tôi nghe nhạc hàng ngày.)
 I go home twice a month. (Tôi về nhà hai lần mỗi tháng

2. Hiện tại tiếp diễn

a/ Cấu trúc

 (+) S + am/is/are + V-ing

 (-) S + am/is/are + not + V-ing
 (?) Am/Is/Are + S + V-ing?

Ex : - I am watching TV. (Tôi đang xem ti vi.)

- I’m not watching TV. (Tôi có đang xem ti vi đâu.)

- Are you watching TV? (Cậu đang xem ti vi đấy à?)

b/ Cách sử dụng

- Diễn đạt một hành động đang xảy tại thời điểm nói. Eg: I am eating my lunch right now. (Bây giờ tôi đang ăn trưa.)

- Diễn tả một hành động hoặc sự việc nói chung đang diễn ra nhưng không nhất thiết phải thực sự diễn ra ngay lúc
nói. Eg: I’m quite busy these days, I’m doing my assignment. (Dạo này tôi khá là bận, tôi đang làm luận án.)

- Diễn đạt một hành động sắp xảy ra trong tương lai gần. Thường diễn tả một kế hoạch đã lên lịch sẵn. Eg: I am flying
to London tomorrow. (Tôi sẽ bay sang Luân Đôn sáng ngày mai.)

- Hành động thường xuyên lặp đi lặp lại gây sự bực mình hay khó chịu cho người nói. Cách dùng này được dùng với
trạng từ ALWAYS, CONTINUALLY. Eg: He is always losing his keys. (Anh ấy cứ hay đánh mất chìa khóa.)

c/ Dấu hiệu nhận biết

– Trong câu có các trạng từ chỉ thời gian: NOW (bây giờ), RIGHT NOW (ngay bây giờ), AT THE MOMENT (lúc
này), AT PRESENT (hiện tại).

Eg: My parents are cooking lunch in the kitchen now.

– Trong câu có các câu gây sự chú ý như: Look! (Nhìn kìa!), Listen! (Hãy nghe này!), Keep silent! (Hãy im lặng!),
Quiet! (Trật tự nào!)

Eg: Look! The train is coming. (Nhìn kìa! tàu đang đến.)
