1.Cách dùng của thì hiện tại đơn

 Diễn tả một thói quen hoặc hành động lặp đi lặp lại trong hiện tại
VD:  I usually get up at 6 a.m.
 Diễn tả một chân lý, sự thật hiển nhiên
VD: The Earth moves around the Sun.
 Nói về một lịch trình có sẵn, chương trình, thời gian biểu cố định
VD:  The plane lands at 10 a.m. tomorrow.
2. Công thức thì hiện tại đơn
Thể Động từ “tobe” Động từ “thường”
- S + V(s/es) + ……
- S + am/is/are + …… I, You, We, They + V (nguyên thể)
I + am He, She, It + V (s/es)
He, She, It + is E.g.1: He always swim in the evening. (Anh

E.g.: Are you a student? Yes, I do. / No, I don’t.

Wh-question + are/ is + S? (V dạng nguyên thể)

* Lưu ý:
- Khi chia động từ ở ngôi He, She, It ta phải thêm “s” vào sau động từ thường (Ví dụ: like =>
likes) hoặc thêm “es” vào sau các động từ có đuôi tận cùng là các chữ cái ch, sh, o, s, x, z (Ví dụ:
do => does, go => goes).
- Riêng động từ have khi chia ở ngôi thứ 3 số ít (she, he, it) ta đổi thành has
- Bỏ y và thêm -ies vào sau các động từ kết thúc bởi một phụ âm + y:
study - studies; fly - flies; try - tries ...
2. Dấu hiệu nhận biết thì hiện tại đơn
Dấu hiệu nhận biết thì hiện tại đơn: khi trong câu có các trạng từ chỉ tần suất:
➢ Always (luôn luôn) , usually (thường xuyên), often (thường xuyên), frequently (thường
xuyên) , sometimes (thỉnh thoảng), seldom (hiếm khi), rarely (hiếm khi), hardly (hiếm khi) ,
never (không bao giờ), generally (nhìn chung), regularly (thường xuyên) ...
Ví dụ:
- We sometimes go to the beach. (Thỉnh thoảng chúng tôi đi biển.)
- I always drink lots of water. (Tôi thường hay uống nhiều nước.)
➢ Every day, every week, every month, every year, every morning … (mỗi ngày, mỗi tuần, mỗi
tháng, mỗi năm).
