KHÁI NIỆM
Thì hiện tại đơn (Simple Present tense) là thì dùng để diễn đạt một hành động mang
tính thường xuyên (regular action), theo thói quen (habitual action) hoặc hành động lặp đi
lặp lại có tính quy luật, hoặc diễn tả chân lý và sự thật hiển nhiên.
Ví dụ:
➢ I walk to school every day. ( Tôi đi học hằng ngày)
➢ He often plays soccer. (Anh ấy thường xuyên chơi bóng đá)
2. CÔNG THỨC THÌ HIỆN TẠI ĐƠN

Thể Động từ “tobe” Động từ “thường”

Khẳng  S + am/is/are + ……  S + V(s/es) + ……

định I + am I, You, We, They + V (nguyên thể)

He, She, It + is He, She, It + V (s/es)

You, We, They + are E.g.1: He always swims in the evening.

E.g.1: I am a student. E.g.2: Mei usually goes to bed at 11 p.m.

E.g.2: They are teachers. E.g.3: Every Sunday we go to see my

grandparents.
E.g.3: She is my mother.

Phủ  S + am/is/are + not +  S + do/ does + not + V (nguyên thể)

định is not = isn’t ; do not = don’t
are not = aren’t does not = doesn’t
E.g.: She is not my friend. E.g.: He doesn't work in a shop.

Wh- questions (Câu hỏi có từ để hỏi)
Wh- + am/ are/ is (not) + S + ….?
E.g.:
a) What is this? (Đây là gì?)
b) Where are you? (Bạn ở đâu thế?)
E.g.: Do you play tennis?
Yes, I do. / No, I don’t.
Wh- questions (Câu hỏi có từ để hỏi)
Wh- + do/ does (not) + S + V(nguyên thể)….?
E.g.:
a) Where do you come from? (Bạn đến từ đâu?)
b) What do you do? (Cậu làm nghề gì vậy?)

Cách thêm s/es sau động từ:

– Thêm s vào đằng sau hầu hết các động từ: want - wants; work - works;…
– Thêm es vào các động từ kết thúc bằng ch, sh, s, ss, x, z, o: miss - misses; wash -
washes; fix - fixes; teach - teaches; go - goes ...
– Bỏ y và thêm ies vào sau các động từ kết thúc bởi một phụ âm + y:
study - studies; fly - flies; try - tries ...

3. CÁCH SỬ DỤNG THÌ HIỆN TẠI ĐƠN

➣ Diễn tả một thói quen hay hành động diễn ra thường xuyên, lặp đi lặp lại.
Ví dụ:
- I brush my teeth every day.
- July is always on time.

➣ Diễn tả chân lý, sự thật hiển nhiên.

Là các sự vật, hiện tượng hiển nhiên trong cuộc sống không có gì để tranh luận
Ví dụ:
- The sun sets in the west
- The earth moves around the Sun.

➣ Diễn tả sự việc xảy ra trong tương lai

Cách này thường áp dụng để nói về thời gian biểu, thời khóa biểu, chương trình hoặc kế
hoạch, lịch trình ...
Ví dụ:
- The train leaves at 8 a.m tomorrow.
- The plane takes off at 7 a.m this morning.

4. DẤU HIỆU NHẬN BIẾT

Dấu hiệu nhận biết thì hiện tại đơn: khi trong câu có các trạng từ chỉ tần suất:
➢ Always (luôn luôn) , usually (thường xuyên), often (thường xuyên), frequently
(thường xuyên) , sometimes (thỉnh thoảng), seldom (hiếm khi), rarely (hiếm khi), hardly
(hiếm khi) , never (không bao giờ), generally (nhìn chung), regularly (thường xuyên) ...
➢ Every day, every week, every month, every year, every morning … (mỗi ngày, mỗi
tuần, mỗi tháng, mỗi năm); Daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly (hàng ngày, hàng
tuần, hàng tháng, hàng quý, hàng năm)
➢ Once/ twice/ three times/ four times….. a day/ week/ month/ year,……. (một lần/ hai
lần/ ba lần/ bốn lần ……..mỗi ngày/ tuần/ tháng/ năm)
Ví dụ:
 We sometimes go to the beach. (Thỉnh thoảng chúng tôi đi biển.)
 I always drink lots of water. (Tôi thường hay uống nhiều nước.)
 They watch TV every evening. (Họ xem truyền hình mỗi tối.)
 I play football weekly. (Tôi chơi đá bóng hàng tuần.)
