CHAPTER 1

INTRODUCTION
Own Words
School Feeding program is defined as the intervention that provides meal
or snacks in the school setting. Considered as the sound investment in
education. It is also a tool which enables children to attend school. Hundreds of
children in Sitio El-Ulit Elementary School benefitted from SFPs that have been
in place for almost year. It provides disadvantages children measured by
indicators of physical growth and cognitive abilities. It aims to improves
attendance, enrollment, learning outcomes and nutritional status of the students.
Nutritional status is the condition of the body resulting from intake, absorption,
and utilization, of food school feeding programs have a significant positive effect
on growth and cognitive performance in children.
The feeding program it is a big help to all students in Sitio El-Ulit
Elementary Scholl because the pupils in Sitio El-Ulit Elementary School they ae
are belong to indigenous people. School feeding program would supplement the
program for malnourishment children through providing them with heathy foods.
It aims to address hunger, contribute the nutritional status. Improve school
performance and learning outcomes, and increase the cognitive function and
academic performance of the learners. We are all aware that some sitio resident
struggle financially and are unable to purchase food, so they constantly eat
banana, camote, palawan and other similar food. The students inability to attend
to attend class in this situation is due to their lack of food and ability to function
due to their hunger and lack of nutrients. As a results, knowing how much this
feeding program helps students, especially in rural area, is very helpful to the
students who participate in it.
The school feeding program at Sitio El-Ulit elementary school are
essential, especially for the students who are indigenous people. They give them
hope that they can continue their studies and not feel hungry, and they
encourage them to become engaged students who can also benefits from their
studies.
INTERNATIONAL
In Systematic Review Journal Biometric Center. It say that nutrition during
the school year is crucial fro mthe physical, mental, and psychocial development
of children and adolescent age 6 to 19 years. It is estimated that, across the
developing world, 66 million school age children go to school everyday hungry,
with 23 million childrens and adolescent abilities to learn, to thrive, and to realize
their full potentials.
CHAPTER II
RESEARCH METHOLOGY
This Chapter presents the method that the researchers employed in the
conduct of the study such as on the research design, research locale,
respondents sampling, research instrument, data gathering procedure, and
statistical tools.

Research Design
This is a quantitative research which will employ the descriptive-
correlational survey method to determine what is the wholesome benefits of
feeding program to the blaan students of Sitio El-Ulit Elementary School. This
design according to Key (2010 ) is appropriate to identify the need information
that will describe the actual description and status of the observed phenomenon
that is based in the variable being studied. This will involve the way to make the
survey as the primary activity to arrive to the purpose of the research. It is
important to know the real status of the variable of the study.
Research Locale
This study will be conducted in El- Ulit Elementary School. This school is
located at Purok Sitio El-Ulit barangay Bukay pait Tangtangan South Cotabato.
This school is headed by Mrs. Elsie Osoria Their school principal.
The respondent for this study is the grade 6 and grade 5 pupils of El-Ulit
Elementary School. They will be requested to answer the formulated
questionnaires translated into local dialect for easy comprehension and
understanding.
Research Sampling
The researcher used questionnaire for the Feeding program and it’s
wholesome benefits to the Blaan pupils of Sitio El- Ulit Elementary School of
Purok Sitio El-Ulit Barangay Bukay Pait Tangtangan South Cotabato. The
questionnaire were made by the researcher.
