Activity Guide and Evaluation Rubric – Task 2 Writing your professional profile.
1. Activity Description
The student will be able to understand different types of text to answer some
questions according to this, and to write a text about the personal profile with
coherence, using the structures learned in the course that allows them better learning.

Go to the text of Module 3. Topic 12, read this carefully, analyze the information
found in the text and answer the following questions:
a. Choose the sentence that represents the main idea and write this.
b. Write in three lines the thesis of the text and supporting examples that
sustenance this.
c. What does the phrase “Top-ranked” mean? Write your explanation.
d. What can be inferred from lines 11 and 12 when the text says “Finally, it is
important to highlight that living in the UK is probably one of the most multi-
cultural experiences one can ever have, and universities are no exception”.
e. Comparing the UK universities with Colombia universities, write some
experiences a foreign person can obtain here.

Share your letter in the Collaborative forum.
Situation: You have presented an exam to apply for a job in a company in Medellín and
the result has been good. Now the company needs to know your complete profile and
to do an interview. So you have to read the letter that the company has sent to you and
give the answer to this. The company need different profiles in different areas.
Thank you for applying for Colombina, a Colombian Global company, specialized in
the manufacturing and marketing of food in different lines.
You carried out the exam and you had an excellent result. We are needing people in
different areas, so we need to know each profile. We would like to invite you for an
interview at our principal office in Bogotá and to know your profile better.
Your interview is scheduled for Thursday 3 May, at 2 p.m. If this time or date is
inconvenient for you, please contact me as soon as possible to rearrange the
interview.
At the interview, you will meet our head of HR, Carolina Martínez, and our head of
It, MS Elsa Molina. They will be telling you more about the jobs and getting to know
you better. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions about the position
and the company, and to see the offices. The interview will last for about 60
minutes. Please bring two references with you for the interview.

experiences.

After reading the message, give the answer to this using the structure of a letter and
writing your professional profile. You have to write a summary first and then write the
experience. Take into account that all the letters begin with date and greetings.
Take into account the following recommendations and the example below:
a. Your online profile needs to be concise, engaging and convincing.
b. State a clear title/role under your name.
c. Your summary should be in short paragraphs.
d. Think about who you want to read your profile and write in an appropriate style
for them.

e. Your letter must have between 132 to 180 words.
Grammar application: Write your letter and your profile using infinitives and
adjectives. Study these topics before.
If you copy the text from any web page, your grade will not be good.
Give feedback to your partner: Read your partner's letter and his/her profile and
give your feedback to him/her. Say if the structure is good or not, what he/she can
improve, or if the letter presents mistakes.

Summary
Over the past six years I have held various roles in the field of digital marketing and
communication and currently lead a small team in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods
(FMCG) sector. I have a proven track record of planning and implementing successful
digital marketing campaigns across a range of channels.

My role involves strategic focus on all areas of digital marketing within the company and
working closely with the main marketing and communications teams. I design and lead all
our digital marketing campaigns.
I was responsible for overall social media strategy. I worked on many campaigns to drive

also led on three key product launches.
In this role I developed my existing knowledge and skills in the fields of social media and
consumer goods. I supported the design of multi-channel marketing campaigns to promote
brand awareness of our healthy snack range.

In the Initial Information Environment, you must: review the course agenda to work
within the established dates.
In the Learning Environment, you must: Study all the English contents found in
the Online content - English level II, to develop each step that you find in the
guide. Besides, the students find the Activities guide and evaluation rubric with all
the instructions to develop, the template to organize the final task and the task 2
forum where the students must socialize the development of each step indicated in
the guide. This is found as Appendix 1: Template final Task 2 – Writing your
professional profile.
In the Evaluation Environment, you must: send the final Writing task, organized in a
template and in a Word document, with all the steps required in the guide and with
the cover page.

Regarding the use of references, consider that the product of this activity must
comply with APA style.

campus.

3. Evaluation Rubric Template
