Project Introduction

Barcelona is the capital of Catalonia and Barcelona Province, located in the northeast
of the Iberian Peninsula, adjacent to the Mediterranean Sea. The city has a
population of 1.6 million and a metropolitan area population of 5 million. Barcelona
is one of the 50 must-see attractions selected by National Geographic magazine in
1999 and attracts a large number of tourists every year. With over 30,000 Chinese
residents, Barcelona has about 100 Chinese restaurants, making Chinese cuisine the
third most popular cuisine after Spanish and French. Jenisia is a Chinese food
restaurant company with five restaurants in Spain, including one in Barcelona. Their
largest restaurant, with an area of 2,000 square meters, is the target of the
renovation project. We are Xiaoma, a Barcelona-based design company specializing
in bars and restaurants. Our services include brand logo design, interior decoration,
material purchase, menu rectification, and web construction. We work with Panda
Construction Company, a reputable construction company in Barcelona with a team
of experienced professionals. Our project lasts for 8 months with a budget of
300,000 euros, covering design, construction, web construction, furniture
installation, and the overall completion process.

environment for the development of Chinese restaurants. However, it is important
to note that there may be changes in the political environment in the future, and it is
essential to keep an eye on any potential changes that may impact the business.

Barcelona is a popular tourist destination in Spain, attracting visitors from around
the world. As a result, the demand for high-quality Chinese food is increasing.
According to recent market surveys, unique restaurant decoration can attract more
customers and increase profits. Additionally, as the economy continues to grow,
more people have higher disposable incomes, which can lead to increased spending
on food and dining experiences.

Sociological Factors

As the world recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic, Spain is once again becoming a
popular destination for international students. As more Chinese students choose to
study in Spain, the demand for Chinese food is likely to increase. Additionally,
Barcelona is a diverse and inclusive city, with a growing Chinese population, which
presents an opportunity to cater to the local community.

Technological Factors

The development of decoration technology has made the construction process more
efficient and less time-consuming. Environmentally friendly materials and techniques
are now widely available, such as the use of mobile environmental protection panels,
which have low formaldehyde emissions and high safety standards. These materials
and techniques can help to create a safe and sustainable working environment.

regulations to ensure that the pollutants produced during the construction process
do not exceed the local discharge standards. Construction materials and techniques

design team. We closely monitor the design trends. Follow the principle of safety,
practicality and simplicity, in maintaining the original Chinese characteristics of the
decoration style under the more innovative design to meet the needs of customers.
Therefore, in terms of project quality, we have developed a perfect management
mechanism, unified management and distribution of materials, and synchronous
operation of project manager and project supervision. We want to help our
customers meet and exceed their project expectations.

Xioma is a design company committed to provide personalized and modern shop


fitting plans for restaurant owners. The company aims to provide services pertaining
to rebranding of a restaurant based in Barcelona. Our company would be working in
collaboration with a construction firm willing to materialize our renovation plans.
The scope of the re branding project covers providing decoration services, equipping
the restaurants with fittings and providing them with personalized solutions which
reflect company’s excellence in shop fitting services. The decoration plans of the
restaurant would help add more meaning to the brand image and improve customer

Introduction of the scope

The project aims to establish and design an urban and modern restaurant in Barcelona. The
restaurant needs to be modern yet elegant. It is designed in a manner where the aesthetics of
restaurant are comfortably aligned with the localized culture of Barcelona. The restaurant
would comprise of a functional area with a dining facility of approx. 30 guests. The furniture
design and décor (lightings and decoration items) would be given a soothing yet modern
touch. The lighting of the restaurant would be subtle to infuse a serenity in the dining
experience. The interior design of the restaurant is geared towards the Spanish traditions.
There would be a separate dining area for music lovers and smoking persons while the rest of
the design would be focused towards catering to different segments of the customer. The wall
hangings would be a testament of the project’s cultural relevance.

Project scope

Management of the project:

Keeping in consideration the initial planning phases and feedback cycles the project is
expected to formally start in March of 2023 after obtaining all necessary permits for building
a structural design. The project manager is responsible for planning and executing the entire
project keeping in view the requirements of the final client (Restaurant owner). Moreover, he
is required to coordinate with the representative of the construction company while moving
the designs back and forth for feedback of the construction company. The project manager is
in charge of the entire project plan and maximum responsibility about the project is delegated
to him.

Design

Once the plan progresses to the next stage the design team is taken on board for the
finalization of measurements, fitting requirements and over all structural design as per the
client’s demands. The designs would be submitted to the final client for acquiring relevant
feedback.

Legal documentation

Once the design plans are approved by the client, construction company and other team
members alike, the next step is to secure relevant paper work for the legal documentation. The
legal documentation is required to attain approvals for the design plans of the company

Procurement

After securing the legal permits, the purchasing/procurement manager needs to actively list
the raw materials required for executing those designs. He needs to demonstrate an effective
knowledge about the market suppliers and engage in profitable deals for sourcing necessary
equipment and products needed to implement the design plans.

Product scope

As mentioned earlier, the ambiance and structural design of the restaurant would be curated
keeping a serene environment as the top priority. Barcelona has a fairly developed culinary
industry therefore customer engagement is important. The design of the restaurants aims to be
traditional and minimal yet engaging enough to provide customers with a great dining
experience.
