SUBJECT CODE: AMT 1101

SUBJECT DESCRIPTION: THEORY OF FLIGHT

NAME: MASAYON, GABRIEL ALEX
SECTION: BS-AMT OL-SOA-03
ACTIVITY: PITCHING, ROLLING, AND YAWING

1) ON WHAT AXIS OF ROTATION DOES PITCH, ROLL AND YAW MOVES?

Pitch is measured from one wing end to the other or from side to side. The plane's roll
axis runs from the front to the back. The Yaw axis runs from the plane's ceiling to its
floor, or its vertical axis.
2) WHAT IS THE IMPORTANCE OF PITCH, ROLL AND YAW?
Pitch and yaw play a crucial part in regulating the motion of a freely moving body in
three dimensions. The examples of these three movements in different products are
provided below. Due to its pitch motion, an aircraft or quadcopter takes off or lands.
And to turn left or right, yaw motion is employed. The direction of the plane is decided
by the three taken together. By themselves, they also provide information on other
elements, such as the pitch-based climb rate.
