Describe ways in which your nursing practice might contribute to service within your

organization and your community

Service is an important aspect of the nursing practice. Service contributes to the overall health

organization to provide satisfactory nursing needs to the community (Meyer & O'Brien-Pallas,

2010). Nurses are vital in ensuring that healthcare facilities and communities function better.

There are several ways in which nursing practice can contribute to better service within the

community and in an organization. Some of the ways include ensuring that my nursing practice

contributes to excellent service in my organization by ensuring patient safety during treatment.

Patient safety is important in nursing in minimizing errors and ensuring quick recoveries after

procedures. Nurses are at the center of patient care and their well-being. Therefore, in my

organization, I can promote better service by ensuring that patients are safe during their stay in

the hospital and after discharge.

Collaboration with community organizations and participation in community outreach programs

aimed at educating people on health (Martin et al., 2010).
