I have always wanted to play the cello ever since I was little.

After I watched a show that was for

kids, hah, I was five. Well I can’t really remember how old I was but I was young enough to still
find “Little Einsteins” entertaining. You can laugh all you want but it was entertaining to a young
child who still watched TV shows. It was the music that really entertained me. However, during
one episode the instrument featured was a cello. I almost immediately fell in love with the
sound, the low, rich sound of a cello. And let’s be honest the cello just acted adorable in that
show. After watching that all I could was “I want to play the cello when I’m older” . Keep in mind
I wasn’t so sure if I would achieve my goal but fast forward 5 or so years and I’m in 5th grade
ready to choose an instrument. I get into the room and there are a bunch of instruments, “Which
one do I choose?” would have been a logical question but I had already made my decision 5
years prior to this day. Regardless of my set in stone decision, I still wanted to try some
instrument for fun, who knows maybe I’d like one more, highly unlikely though. I walk up and I
decide to try the clarinet. If I hadn’t been so set on playing the cello then I would’ve chosen the
clarinet, it was my second choice and I still would love to learn it someday if possible. The
clarinet was great, next up I tried the flute. Man was that flute dizzying. The second I blew into it
I got so dizzy I couldn’t even understand what the band instructor was saying. I just nodded and
said yea, ok and moved on with my day. Well that was fun but now I just had to try out the cello.
I get in line and I ask for the cello without a second though. Sadly I didn’t get to try any other
ones for fun but when I dragged that bow across the strings, I knew I had made the right
decision. Best decision of my life, and I’m not good with making decisive decisions.
