population. Much of its surface is practically uninhabited.
2. Canada is the country in the world with the most kilometers of coastline, with
a total of 240,000 km. Its coasts are also bathed by 3 different seas: the
Arctic, the Atlantic Ocean and the Pacific.
3. Niagara Falls is one of the most touristic and photogenic places in the
country. Did you know that the name Niagara originates from the word
Onguiaagra, which means "roaring water"?
4. Basketball was invented in Canada, as an occurrence of a physical
education teacher named James Naismith: Although the two most popular
sports in Canada are ice hockey and American football.
5. The highest mountain in Canada is Mount Logan. It measures almost 6,000
meters.
6. One of the most interesting ethnic groups in Canada is that of the Inuit who
were formerly known as Eskimos, but for them the term is offensive, as it
means "eaters of raw meat."
