Hailed Nortehanon renowned fashion designer trains local designers in the province

Rodolfo 'Puey' Quiñones Jr., a renowned international fashion designer, known prominently as
Puey Quiñones, who hails from the town of Bobon, Northern Samar; shared his knowledge,
skills, and expertise in the world of fashion designing in a two-day Local Designers Workshop
held on April 19-20, 2023 at the Verena’s Cafe, Catarman, Northern Samar.

The workshop aims to capacitate local designers in the province, showcase their creativity and
artistic prowess. This will serve as a great learning opportunity for our local designers as they
come up with their own artistic designs.

The creation of these local designers will be exhibited and will be up for a fashion show in June
as part of the province’s founding anniversary celebration where candidates of Mutya san
Ibabao will serve as models.

Aside from this, the best creation will be given an award and as a prize, he/she will have a
chance to work with Mr. Puey Quiñones in his fashion house in Makati.

With Mr. Puey is Axel Que, the head designer of Puey Quiñones known for her costumes in
Miss Universe, also shared his expertise in the technicalities in the world of fashion designing.

This activity was made possible through the support of Ms. Bles Ongchuan and the Governor in
hopes for our local designers and the province to be recognized nationwide, and later on be
known internationally.
