Assignment

Look up an article about biomaterials and biosensors. And then use that article to create a critique
paper. Submit the article and the review paper together.

Maximum of 3 pages

Short bond paper, 1 inch margin, 1.5 spacing, justified, Times New Roman font

In writing a journal article review, first, for any type of journal article your critique should include
some basic information:

1. Name(s) of the Author(s), Year

2. Title of Article

3. Title of Journal, Volume, and page number

4. Statement of the problem or issued discussed

5. Methods, hypothesis, major conclusions

For the Evaluation: Your review might therefore be guided by the following questions,
conclusion from the evaluation part is the last in you paper. Do not include any of the following
questions if they do not apply to your journal paper.

Objectives - What does the article set out to do?


Theory - Is there an explicit theoretical framework? If not, are there important theoretical
assumptions?
Concepts - What are the central concepts? Are they clearly defined?
Argument - What is the central argument? Are there specific hypotheses?
Method - What methods are employed to test these?
Evidence - Is evidence provided? How adequate is it?
Values - Are value positions clear or are they implicit?
Literature - How does the work fit into the wider literature?
Contribution - How well does the work advance our knowledge of the subject?
Style - How clear is the author's language/style/expression?
Conclusion - A brief overall assessment. (Should be the last part of the Evaluation)
