This macro memes are from Magnifico. Magnifico is a
2003 Filipino drama film written by Michiko Yamamoto
and directed by Maryo J. de los Reyes. In this scene that
Lola Magda (Gloria Romero) she said to Magnifico (Jiro
Manio) "Pag nabuhay ako ng matagal mahihirapan kayo.
Pag namatay naman ako gastos din". It means that Lola
Magda doesn’t want to be a burden for her family
because of the situation they are in right now. Also, the
family of magnifico is in the lower class and lives along
or belongs to the poverty line. Their family cannot afford
to buy needs like medicine, other necessities, and proper
burial if someone dies.
In this scene it is also the same as Lola Magda when she
was talking to Magnifico. This scene was also portraying
the social classes. As I am saying they are in lower class
so even if it is a small thing it make them happy like this
place called “Perya” or Philippine Carnival. This “perya”
is a source of entertainment of people and also a shared
reflection of Filipino values, hopes, and even art itself.
With these small amusement park magnifico wanted to
give hope, to give joy, and to help her sister to enjoy the
world despite of the illness that experiencing of his sister.

This scene was the most important in the film because the
main character was born which is Magnifico. He is the
baby in that picture, and my insights regarding the issue
were that everyone should have some knowledge in terms
of family planning. Everyone should have an idea of
what situation they are going to enter. Like Edna and
Gerry, they are in a lower class and experiencing a
struggle to give the needs of their family because they are
not well prepared for possible incidents. They cannot
provide the needs like proper treatment of the illnesses
they were experiencing by both parent and daughter. So
as an adult, you must be knowledgeable and prepared for
things like this.
This scenario is all about Magnifico and his best friend
being willing to do anything to help his grandmother
prepare her coffin early, but in a self-made with all the
money they collected at the carnival. Magnifico's family
is in the lower class, so they don'tdon't have the ability to
buy right away if something happens to their
grandmother, so they prepare it themselves. This strategy
was behind in the desperate times because they lived
along or below the poverty line, so they don'tdon't have a
choice but to try harder to survive and can avail all the
necessities they needed every day.
This scene was the most heartbreaking for me because I
see myself in Magnifico’s difficulties in life. I know
Magnifico is trying his best academically, but some
people are just not perfect with everything. Maybe
Magnifico is not good in terms of academics, but in terms
of handling all the problems in life and family, I assure
you that he can perfectly handle it at his age. I am proud
of how he can handle all the problems he experiences in
both family and life despite how poor they are. And I am
envious of Magnifico because, as for me, I cannot handle
both. Maybe I am good at academics, but in terms of the
family, my emotions will quickly drop, and I avoid them
immediately. But Magnifico was not kind of that. He has
this optimistic attitude in life and was able to transform
the lives of everyone around him because of his
tremendous generosity and sympathy. Lacking something
does not mean stopping and giving up on your life. You
just need to find yourself where you are good.
