According to Demo and Acock (1998), as cited by Tejada (2017), “In most cases, younger
children will endure more psychological disturbances than older children. They encounter
problems with personal adjustment and peer relations. Studies according to Wallerstein
(1984) also conclude that those who are very young at marital breakup are less burdened in
the years to come than those who are older as and similarly Amato (1987) found that the
majority of children who were very young at the time of divorce reported that they were not
strongly affected by the break-up.” Younger children stress more than older children they
encounter different kinds of problems that they need to adjust and understand. To overcome
the problem they encountered.
