Scope of Work:-
Repairing of stator core of motor

1) Scope of work includes repairing/ re-staggering / replacement

of damage core and its testing. Work exclude rewinding of
stator. (The stator will be sent to the party after removing the
burnt winding and rewinding will not be in the scope of party)

2) Repairing of stator core includes

(a) Systematic dismantling of stator core stampings. Each stator

core stamping is to be thoroughly cleaned and de-varnished. The
repairing/ re- staggering/replacement of damage core stampings
should be carried out by properly varnishing and dry out of
individual stator core stamping to be done.

(b) The complete assembly of stator should be done carefully to

avoid any damage of stator/stator core. The testing of stator
core should be done as per relevant IS. The temperature rise of
stator core should be within the permissible limits.

(c) All stator core test certificate should be submitted to

engineer in-charge by the party.

Work include dismantling of rotor shaft, making of new rotor

shaft, reassembly on rotor winding on new rotor shaft, testing
and dynamic balancing of assembled rotor, work excludes making
of new rotor winding/bar. Defective shaft should be replaced by
new shaft. The material used in new shaft to be same as in
original. Tests like dynamic balancing, ultra sonography, and
radiography examination of new shaft to be done. All test
certificate to be submitted to the EIC by the party.

(a) Work include making of new rotor bars and end ring/cage,
assembly on old rotor shaft, carrying out small repair work on
rotor shaft bearing seat, if required, testing and dynamic
balancing of assembled rotor to be done. Work excludes making of
new rotor shaft.

(b) Systematic dismantling of both side end rings of the rotor

and withdrawing out the old bars from the rotor slots. Replacing
all rotor bars with new rotor bars and replacing end rings with
new end rings. The rotor slot and end rings are to be thoroughly
cleaned. The hot spot or any damage on the stamping to be
corrected by the way of re-staggering/ replacement. The
individual stamping should be cleaned, de-varnished,
re-varnishing & dry out.

(c) The end rings of both sides are to be designed and

manufactured as per original to fix and support the total cage
and laminations to avoid any damage at the copper bars of the
rotor. All bars are to be manufactured of electrolytic copper as
per original dimensions and they are to be inserted in slot with
utmost care. Both side end rings are to be seemed properly after
brazing on both sides of bars, the ultra sonography /
radiography examinations of brazed joints and all rotor bars are
to be carried out. Metal of end ring should be same as that of
original.

(d) The rotor dynamically balancing to be done for trouble free

operation. The dynamic balancing certificate, along with all
other test certificates of the rotor shall be submitted to the
engineer in-charge by the party.

Terms & Condition:-

1. The contract completion period shall be 1.5years (18months)

from the date of award of contract.
2. The individual working period for the repairing of stator
core is 60 days and for repairing of rotor or replacement of
rotor shaft work is 75 days. Date of start will be counted from
the date of receipt of stator/rotor at party's works and date of
completion is when party given call for final inspection.
3. The defect liability period shall be 01 year from the date of
receipt of stator/rotor at our site or 06 months from the date
of commissioning, whichever is earlier.
4. To and fro transportation and transit insurance will be borne
by Agency. however party has to dispatch the repaired
stator/rotor through NTPC approved transporter.
5. All other terms and conditions as per scope of work, GCC of
NTPC.
6. You shall enter into a formal agreement with us on judicial
stamp paper within a period of 30 days from the award of PO.
7. The party does repairing work of stator/ rotor/ re-shafting

as per approved quality plan from NTPC.

8. All the material required for repairing work of the contract
are to be arranged by the party.
9. All type of scrap materials generated during the execution of
work shall be retained by the party. Rebate towards scrape to be
included in quoted rate.
10. The pre-dispatch inspection is required after completion of
job; accordingly party has to inform the job progress to
engineer in-charge.
11. The repaired stator/rotor is to be packed properly for their
safe transportation up to NTPC Unchahar, for which no extra cost
will be payable to the party.
12. If contractor fails to adhere the time schedule of repair of
individual BOQ item (i.e. Stator or rotor). Then 1% per week and
maximum 5% of repair cost of that individual BOQ item will be
deducted as compensation from contactor's bill.
13. Payment terms: 90% payment within 30 days after delivery of
material at site and balance 10% after expiry of defect
liability period.
14. Quantity variation is +/- 50% of the individual BOQ quantity
& +/- 50% in overall PO value depending upon breakdown in LT
motors.
15. Party has to submit indemnity bond for Rs. 5 lakh against the
motor being send for repair at party's works.
16. Form-38 will be provided by NTPC free of cost. However for
sending motor (stator/rotor) from UP to other state if way bill
required it will be arranged by vendor free of cost.
