Dear Suzanne,

We are pleased to inform you that you have been approved to participate in the sequential Bachelor’s-Master’s
program in International Affairs.

You can now take advantage of special access to graduate courses, reductions in both time and tuition toward
earning the Master's degree, and waivers of application fees and recommendation letters for admission to
graduate school.

While participating in the program, you will continue to be an undergraduate student in your current program
until you have completed all undergraduate degree requirements. All undergraduate policies and procedures
will, therefore, remain in effect. You will continue to register for classes by meeting with your assigned
undergraduate student advisor during the advance registration period.

Please contact Phil Akre via telephone at (212) 229-5400 x2421 or email at AkreP@newschool.edu.

Courses

Beginning in Fall 2023, depending on the undergraduate-graduate Bachelor’s-Master’s pairing, you will be
permitted to register for up to 18 credits of graduate-level courses offered through the Master's program as part
of your undergraduate studies.

During your participation in the program as an undergraduate student, you will be charged the undergraduate
tuition rate for all courses, regardless of their level. Following the conferral of your undergraduate degree, and
upon review of your successful completion of the graduate-level courses (successful completion of each course
requires a minimum grade of B or higher) and admission to the master's program, these courses and credits will
be applied toward your Master's degree as well.

When planning your academic pathway, please keep in mind that the work required for graduate courses may be
more demanding than for undergraduate courses. Also, please note that credits from graduate courses in which a
letter grade of B or higher is not earned are not applicable toward the Master's degree, though they may be
applied toward the undergraduate degree.

Transition to the Master's Program

In the final semester of your undergraduate studies, please meet with your advisor and complete the Bachelor's-
Master's Graduate application to indicate your interest in continuing on to the Master’s program. Your work in
your graduate-level courses will be reviewed for admission to the master's program and for graduate-level
tuition scholarship. If you are in good standing, you will be provisionally admitted to the graduate program
pending successful completion of your last semester’s undergraduate coursework and undergraduate degree
conferral.

We again offer our congratulations. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me.

Sincerely,

Merida Escandon Gasbarro
