Transactional Talks

Transactional language is the language used to carry out transactions and which have results. It can be
compared to interactional language, which is used to maintain relationships. Used to send massage with
content. It has a clear objective when asking for a: refund, asking for an information, making a complaint

Transactional languages are often taught over interactional languages, because they involve shorter turns,
language is simpler and more predictable, and can have measurable results.

Interactional Talks

Interactional language is the language we use to build and maintain relationships. It can be compared to a
transactional language, which usually carries a message and is the language used to get things done. To
maintain interaction, speakers use interactional strategies. Use to establish and maintain various sorts of
social relationship. It involves:

Teachers can present elements of interactional language, and increase learner awareness of interactional
strategies with video exposure and authentic conversations. Learners can learn using paralinguistic
features such as gestures, eye contact, and body language, and linguistic features are used to maintain
interactional conversations including functions such as expressing interest and asking for clarification.
