Sexual assault is a dangerous behavior that is widely spread in our societies all around the world. Some
studies show that this kind of problem is due to several accidents that have occurred in a person's
childhood or adulthood. It has negative effects on a victim's life. To give a context, it is said in the study
by UNICEF (2016); sexual assault includes unwanted sexual contact as the most prevalent type of sexual
assault. Neighbors, total strangers, gangsters/addicts, and others (adultmen, chatmate/text mate,
friend, and brother's pals) were the perpetrators of sexual assault. The most commonly cited methods
used by the perpetrators were verbal in nature, giving gifts and favors, being drugged or given alcohol,
physical assault, and giving threats.

{In addition to that, according to the data from Cameleon Association statistics (2022), there are over
7,000,000 children that experienced sexual assault every year in the Philippines. Between the ages of 10
and 18, more than 70% of children who have been sexually assaulted are victims. Children less than six
make about 20% of those victims.}

The cases continue to rise despite the Republic 8353, often known as the Anti-Rape Law of 1997. With
that being said, it is coherent that this issue must be thoroughly addressed by the authorities given that
they are the first responders in these challenging serious situations faced by teenagers.

Helpless. It is a documentary where social justice will be shown and what is happening in our country
that is not given much attention. The minor female named Maeve, agrees to entertain her schoolmate
named Alex, but then after a numerous contact with each other, reveals a dark intension of Alex.

This story is based on a true story of one minor female who experience sexual assault and uncovers the
story of a minor female who have been neglected by the authorities. And so, the names of the
characters in the documentary have been changed.
