Designing and Implementing Assessment Tasks and Projects to Engage and Assess Students’
Thinking
Jay will present ideas from his latest book, Designing Authentic Performance Tasks and Projects
(ASCD, 2020). This session will explore a variety of practical and proven tools for the development
of performance tasks and projects to engage students in meaningful learning and for assessing
important learning outcomes (e.g., 21st century skills) that often fall “through the cracks” of
08.25-09.25
conventional testing. In addition, instructional implications and the role of formative assessment
WIB will be examined.

09.30 - 11.00 Developing Personalized Portfolios that Align with Learning Expectations
WIB When done well, digital portfolios can serve two purposes: they can show how students are
meeting learning expectations, and they can let students show who they are as individual learners.
In this session, we will focus on tools and techniques for improving personalization. We’ll examine
how students can express their voice and their passion as they go through the process of collecting,
selecting, reflecting and presenting their best work.
We’ll look at strategies that are appropriate for each grade level and that fit with the High Scope
approach to teaching and learning.

Helping Teachers Uncover Students’ Thinking and Co-create Descriptive & Actionable Feedback
with Students Based on Learning Goals.
A close analysis of student work gives students insight into real learning. It is beneficial not only for
the students, but also for the teachers. By uncovering students’ thinking through students’ actual
work, it gives a powerful impact for both teaching and learning.
When teachers are able to provide descriptive and actionable feedback, it enables students to
co-create meaning and provides opportunities for them to act upon it.
In this session, we will focus on strategies to uncover students’ thinking through their work,
provide descriptive feedback based on success criteria and the learning goals and how teachers
can decide on next instructional moves. We’ll also look at strategies how teachers co-create
descriptive & actionable feedback with students.

Spark Curiosity, Fuel Innovation, and Drive Learning: Teach Students to Ask Their Own
Questions
Asking questions is an essential — yet often overlooked — lifelong learning skill. When we teach
our students to formulate effective questions, we open up powerful pathways for engaged,
self-directed learning. In this session, you will experience the Question
Formulation Technique (QFT), a simple, yet powerful step-by-step strategy that teaches students
how to collaboratively produce, improve, and strategize on how to use their own questions. This
session will introduce you to the QFT process and provide suggestions for adapting this strategy
into your K-12 curriculum across all subject areas.

Optimize children's brain function and social-emotional development through a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere
If you're looking for ways to get children moving actively and meaningfully in the classroom this session is for you. Here
are some activities and ideas to give their minds a little break so that you can plan your brain gym and mindful
exercises throughout the daily routine.
Simply inviting children to talk during book reading is not enough to optimize growth in literacy development.
So, how can you engage but also deepen children's comprehension during read-aloud time?
The secrets of making an impactful PBC, empowering our students to be future-ready citizens with concepts, skills,
and values
The project-based cycle is a vehicle for our students to meta-level reflection and expert thinking, as well as other
learner outcomes, and achieves the expectation of subject outcomes (understanding essential concepts and mastering
subject-specific skills). In the process of PBC, students will practice HighScope Indonesia's core values: Respect,
Responsibility, Integrity, and Excellence. In this session, we are going to share our secrets about creating an impactful
PBC that can be used to plan and apply PBC steps to ensure that our students are future-ready citizens with concepts,
skills, and values.

How Can You Facilitate Your Students to Improve Their Writing Skills?
I did action research on how to improve my outlier students' writing skills in grade 2-3. It's a simple activity but needs
to be done regularly. You can do it either online or offline. If you are interested, come join my session.
In our presentation, we will discuss real activities of implementing project management skills that involve students in
every process. During the process, students will be highly encouraged to apply Core Values, LO, and HoE in completing
their projects. As teachers, we will also share experiences in implementing Project Management Skills in the classroom
along with the achievements and challenges. The audience will also be involved in real activities from the point of view
of teachers and students.

The Learner Outcome Elements Immersion Strategies for Middle Year Students
HighScope's goal is to facilitate the development of self-regulated leaders. Self-regulated leaders are driven by values
and purpose and are able to demonstrate all Learner Outcomes. Learner outcome elements are introduced at the
beginning of the year during HITS. Some activities are done to make students understand more about it. But for further
understanding, the consistent application of an integrated and comprehensive approach is needed to make sure they
achieve the learning objectives. Some strategies are shared through this session using the simulation of one of the
activities in science class and how to immerse learner outcome elements in the process.

Wayang Dalang/Warisan Tersayang Daur Ulang Project: Make the learning enjoyable and concrete, online or
offline!
Learning is fun when a friend is around. I miss my friend during the pandemic and isolation.” Ever heard students say
that? Sad, huh? So, how can we support them? When a pandemic is not so friendly for the learning process, the
learning still should be concrete using materials at home. In this session, we will learn how an eco-friendly idea
through the project of “Wayang Dalang (Warisan Tersayang Daur Ulang)” makes students engage in an enjoyable and
concrete learning process, either in the offline or online sphere.

Guru Agama Sebagai Intelektual Kritis di Era Teknologi Digital : Peran Guru Agama Dalam Proses Pemeliharaan
Iman Siswa
