RATIONALE
The province of Nueva of Nueva Vizcaya rests in the watershed areas of the Cordillera and the
Caraballo mountain ranges with a total land area of 437,900 hectares. It is known as the Citrus Capital of
the Philippines, Salad Bowl of Region 02, Agro-Forestry Hub of Cagayan Valley and Watershed Haven
of the Region. Information of such must be learned by every Novo Vizcayano.
The K to 12 Araling Panlipunan Curriculum in its expanding world progression start from the most
basic unit of the society, then to local community, to the region, to the country and to the global
community. To what lessons should be presented? They are presented in the essential learning
competencies which are open for contextualization.
What then are the competencies and the resources of Nueva Vizcaya that could be blended together
worthy of bringing in the classroom?

istrukturang panlipunan
Naiuugnay ang tungkulin at gawain ng mga bumubuo ng komunidad sa sarili at sariling pamilya
Nailalahad ang mga pagbabago sa sariling komunidad a.heograpiya (katangiang pisikal) b. politika (pamahalaan) c.
ekonomiya (hanapbuhay/kabuhayan) d. sosyo -kultura
Naihahambing ang katangian ng sariling komunidad sa iba pang komunidad tulad ng likas na yaman, produkto at
hanap -buhay, kaugalian at mga pagdiriwang, atbp

THERE ARE MANY LOCAL NATURAL RESOURCES IN THE FORMS OF MOUNTAINS , CAVES AND
HILLS, RIVERS AND FALLS FOUND IN THE PROVINCE OF NUEVA VIZCAYA THAT COULD BE USED
NOT ONLY FOR CONTEXTUALIZATION OF LESSONS OF ARALING PANLIPUN GRADE 2 BUT ALSO
FOR INTEGRATIVE TEACHING AS WELL AS THEMATIC TEACHING.
THERE ARE ALSO MANY PERSONALITIES OF THE PROVINCE, FROM ALL WALKS OF LIFE AT THAT
WHO POSSES SKILLS, ATTITUDES AND CHARACTER FROM WHOM WE CAN LEARN FORM LESS
INSPIRE EACH ONE OF US

WAYS FORWARD: Municipalities are encouraged to have contextualized books of their own. Aritao is
already working with their own research and soon they finish.
Given the chance, research is going on for another great avenue to feature Nueva Vizcaya
