De-Chlorination Chemical ZenTreat D-100

Applications:
ZenTreat D-100 is a concentrated, food grade
reducing agent based on sodium bisulfite used
to multiple applications for the removal of
dissolved oxygen, free chlorine, and combined
chlorine. It is primarily used for reverse
osmosis (RO) plants as de-chlorination agent
before the membranes. It can be used for
other applications such as oxygen scavenger
for hydrotesting, drilling, and others.

Chemistry Mechanism
De-Chlorination:
A reducing-agent chemical designed to react
with chlorine derivatives as oxidation agents. It
has also the ability to react with dissolved
oxygen as well. This is an example of the
reaction between sodium hypochlorite and
sodium bisulfite
NaOCl + NaHSO3 ----> NaCl + NaHSO4
feedwater with chlorine derivatives to remove
any trace of chlorine before reaching the
membranes because it may damage them.
This product is liquid to enhance the reaction
rate between chlorine and bisulfite which
better than using traditional powder SMBS
method. The ideal dose is 10 ppm of product
versus 1 ppm of chlorine.
ZenTreat D-100 is dosed at the final point on
feedwater after filtration in order to ensure
proper disinfection of all processes before the
RO membranes.

Compatibility:
ZenTreat D-100 is a concentrated solution
does not initiate corrosion in its concentrate.

made of PP, HDPE, PVC, Teflon, stainless

Safety:
Specific Gravity (25°C): ZenTreat D-100 is an oxygen scavenger can

proper PPEs as detailed in SDS is a must.
pH (as concentrate): Splashes in the eye should immediately be

obtained.
