Central Bicutan is one of the 28 barangays that can be found in Taguig City, Metro

Manila. Central Bicutan was created under Taguig City Ordinance No. 24, Series 2008
and ratified on December 18, 2008. Central Bicutan was originally a part of Upper
Bicutan until it became under a new jurisdiction, Central Bicutan along with other
9 barangays were created during December 2008 by the City Council.

Some of the landmarks that could be found in Central Bicutan are the Hall of
Justice, Polytechnic University of the Philippines Taguig, and Taguig City
University. The Hall of Justice was a former site for DPWH. Taguig City University
was once called Pamantansan ng Taguig and it started its operations in Central
Bicutan on November 2006.

In 1909, Bicutan was surrounded by Pasig and Parañaque. A huge portion of Bicutan
is covered by Fort Willian McKinley. Under Proclamation No. 423 with the signature
of Carlos P. Garcia, signed on July 12, 1957, the land is initially only intended
for soldiers.
Due to the wish of citizens, as well as by Pasig, Parañaque, and Taguig government
officials that Bicutan should not be included in the areas under Proclamation 423,
former President Diosdado Macapagal signed Proclamation No. 246 states that Bicutan
will not be included in Proclamation No. 423. In 1964 and early 1965. The occupants
had their status confirmed as the owner of their land
The population of Bicutan eventually grew to over 3,600 families and it never went
down since, after the vacant areas have been populated and filled with houses, as
the population within Bicutan grew, lack of education was noticed within the area
and so in July 16, 1966, a collaborative effort resulted in a new school meant to
resolve this issue.
The Sangguniang Barangay Upper Bicutan was under the management of Barangay
Captain, Mr. Venancio T. Osano. Upper Bicutan's Osano Park was named after him.
As the years went by, the community soon had an elementary school, roads,
electricity supply, and a water tank with large capacity.
Purok 1, 2a, 3, and 4 became Central Bicutan eventually. Upper Bicutan retained
Purok 2b, 5, and 6, this is due to City Ordinances number 24-27, 57–61, 67–69, and
78, series of 2008.

Central Bicutan once had a population of over 25,514 people in 2010, which later
grew to 33,851 people by 2020, the population of Central Bicutan has increased by
8,337 people within a decade.
