The Boy and the Wolf

Once there was a boy. His work was to take care of the sheep. He was called a shepherd. At night, he
could not sleep. He could not sleep because he had to look after the sheep. He was lonely. He thought that
somebody should be with him. He could not talk to the sheep. He thought of a plan. So he cried, “Wolf, Wolf.
Help me! Help me!”
The people nearby heard his call. They got up and ran fast. They asked, “Where is the wolf? Where is the
wolf?” But there was no wolf. So, the people went back to their homes to sleep. Again, the boy cried, “Wolf,
Wolf! A wolf is here. Help me! Help me!”
Once more the people ran to help him. They ran to help the boy drive the wolf away. But there was no
wolf. They did not see any wolf. So, again the people went home.
Everything was quite. Then suddenly the boy heard a sound. It was the sound made by the wolf. A real
wolf was around. A real wolf came to eat his sheep.
So he cried, “Wolf, Wolf! There is a real wolf. Come help me. Come help me.”
