I am from Jimenez, a Heritage Town in the Province of Misamis Occidental,
which once had the Philippines' oldest church, the Catholic Church of St. John the Baptist. It is a baroque church created during the Spanish regime, notably by the Augustinian Recollects in the second half of the 19 th century. The church was constructed primarily of coral stone with Renaissance-style accents. The paintings on the church's ceiling are one of its main attractions, and they are both interesting and captivating. The ceiling, as seen in the photo, was painted with a geometric design, including the tiles. It has mostly been conserved in the manner in which our ancestors painted it. This is when I realized the importance of geometry in the construction of buildings, churches, and other infrastructure. Geometry has been used for centuries to create buildings that hold our country's legacy, such as this historically built church of St. John the Baptist. Even the most basic aspects of our existence have been shown to be impacted by geometry. It helps us better understand individual events and raises our quality of life as a whole.
