EMPLOYEE ATTENDANCE POLICY

Regular Business Hours

a. All officers and employees are required to strictly observe the prescribed office hours. Daily time
in and time out of all employees will be recorded in the provided biometric device.
b. The daily record of attendance shall be monitored by the Human Resources Department.
c. Falsification or irregularities in the time records shall render the responsible employee
administratively liable to criminal prosecution.
d. Employees except those covered by special laws shall render not less than eight (8) hours a day
for five (5) days a week or total of forty hours a week, exclusive of time for lunch. Such hours
shall be from 8:00 AM to 12:00 NN and 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM on all days except on Saturdays,
Sundays, and Holidays.

Sanctions

a. Employees are entitled 2.5 days of leave credits per month which accumulate if unused.
b. Tardiness and absences of employees will be deducted from their accumulated leave credits.
c. If an employee utilized and exhausted all of his leave credits, his absence will be considered leave
without pay.
d. Incurring ten (10) counts of tardiness in two (2) consecutive months in a semester is considered
habitual tardiness. Employees shall be warned by the Human Resources Department if they incur
ten (10) counts of absences in a month. Employees practicing habitual tardiness shall be
subjected to administrative sanctions.
e. Employees shall file leave application duly approved by the head of office five (5) working days
prior to their absence.
f. In case of sick leave, employees shall file leave application within (3) three working days upon
their return to duty. A letter justifying the employee’s absence must be verified by his direct
supervisors shall be attached on the leave application.
g. Unauthorized absences exceeding the 2.5 days monthly leave credits is considered habitual
absence. Employees practicing habitual absence for three (3) consecutive months shall be
subjected to administrative sanctions.

Rewards

a. Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence (PRAISE) shall be established to
reward employees who rendered services without tardiness and absences.
b. PRAISE Committee, in coordination with Human Resources Department, shall monitor the
records of employees. They will be in-charge of the giving of awards and incentives to the
qualified employees.
c. In order for employees to qualify for the awards, they should not incur tardiness, undertime, or
absences (exclusive of forced leaves or absences).
d. Employee/s who qualified for punctuality and perfect attendance awards shall receive plaque of
recognition and cash incentives by the end of the year.
