SMRST stands for "Resume from Suspend or Hibernate Reset" and is a signal on a

motherboard.

When a computer goes into a low-power state such as Suspend or Hibernate, it saves
the current state of the system to memory or disk and powers down most of its
components to save energy. When the system is resumed from this low-power state, the
RSMRST signal is used to reset some of the hardware components to ensure that they
are in a proper state before resuming operation.
