1. Content. Amount of relevant knowledge on topic demonstrated.

(20% weighting)
Attainment of intended learning outcomes. Independent research to be carried out.
Very good understanding of the topic. Ideas supported with appropriate sources.
2. Structure. Overall structure and organisation of ideas and words length.
(30% weighting)
Critical evaluation of material. Consideration of wider issues.
3. Argument. Quality of argument, as a whole and at paragraph level.
(30% weighting)
Work to show originality and/or appropriate application of the topic to other contexts.
Analytical approach taken. Presentation of valid arguments provided in a clear logical
manner.
4. Presentation. Literary and graphic presentation. Grammar, spelling and
punctuation.
(10% weighting)
Appropriate formatting, precise use of key concepts and terminology.
5. Referencing. Citations and reference list.
(10% weighting)
Correct referencing style.
