s an undergraduate student majoring in Business English, participating in a cognitive


internship with a logistics company specializing in regional economic development
and technology application was an enlightening experience. During the career
guidance session led by Mr Hiep, CEO of Green Lien Chieu Logistics, I gained an
understanding of the various job opportunities available in the logistics industry.

Logistics is an essential aspect of global trade and economic development. The


logistics industry is responsible for the transportation, storage, and distribution of
goods and plays a vital role in supply chain management. The logistics industry also
supports e-commerce, which has led to the growth of online marketplaces and the rise
of direct-to-consumer shipping.
The logistics industry is diverse, and there are many job opportunities available for
individuals with different skills and qualifications. In this report, I will discuss the
various job roles in the logistics industry and the skills required to succeed in these
roles.

Logistics Coordinator
Firstly, one of the most popular job roles in the logistics industry is that of a logistics
coordinator. Logistics coordinators are responsible for managing the transportation of
goods from one location to another. They work closely with suppliers, carriers, and
customers to ensure that goods are delivered on time and in good condition. They are
also responsible for resolving any issues that arise during the transportation process.
Logistics coordinators need to have strong communication, organizational, and
problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure. They also need to
have a deep understanding of transportation regulations and logistics operations.

Warehouse Manager
Secondly, warehouse managers are responsible for managing the day-to-day
operations of a warehouse. They oversee the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods, as
well as the management of inventory. They are also responsible for maintaining a safe
working environment and ensuring that warehouse operations are conducted
efficiently.

Warehouse managers need to have strong leadership, communication, and analytical
skills and the ability to manage a team of people effectively. They also need to have a
deep understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management, and logistics
operations.

Transportation Manager
Thirdly, transportation managers are responsible for overseeing the transportation of
goods from one location to another. They need to have a strong understanding of
transportation regulations, as well as the ability to manage a team of drivers and ensure
that goods are delivered on time and in good condition.
Transportation managers need to have strong communication and leadership skills, as
well as the ability to think strategically and make decisions quickly. They also need to
have a deep understanding of logistics operations and transportation management.

Supply Chain Manager


Next up, supply chain managers are responsible for managing the entire supply chain,
from sourcing raw materials to delivering finished products to customers. They need to
have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to manage
relationships with suppliers, customers, and other stakeholders.
Supply chain managers also need to have a deep understanding of logistics operations
and the ability to think strategically about the supply chain as a whole. They play a
critical role in ensuring that goods are delivered on time and in good condition while
also managing costs and minimizing waste.

Information Technology (IT) Professional


Finally, there are many job opportunities within the logistics industry for people with
strong IT skills. IT professionals are responsible for developing and managing the
technology systems that are used to track and manage goods within the logistics
industry. They need to have strong technical skills and the ability to work well in a
team. IT professionals are in high demand in the logistics industry, as technology plays
an increasingly important role in logistics operations.

In addition to these specific job roles, there are also opportunities for entrepreneurs
within the logistics industry. The growth of e-commerce has led to a surge in demand
for logistics services, creating opportunities for startups that specialize in specific
aspects of the logistics process. These startups may focus on last-mile delivery, reverse
logistics, or other niche areas of the logistics industry. In conclusion, the logistics
industry offers a wide range of job opportunities for individuals with different skills
and qualifications. Logistics coordinators, warehouse managers, transportation
managers, supply chain managers, and IT professionals are just a few examples of the
types of roles available in the industry.

As a student, it is essential for me to stay up to date with the latest trends and
technologies in the logistics industry to prepare myself for a successful career. I plan
to continue learning and growing my skills in data analysis and technology, as these
are areas that are rapidly becoming more critical in the logistics industry. I also aim to
network with professionals in the industry and seek internships and job opportunities
to gain hands-on experience and further develop my skills. By doing so, I hope to
position myself as a competitive candidate for job opportunities in the logistics
industry upon graduation.
