Narrator 1: On a summer night, there was howling of dogs, trying to tell that something might

happen in the land of a family. Morning came and the father of the family went to their farm to
harvest the crops. When he went to the farm, he thought that something was odd about their
crops.

Father: Why do my crops look dehydrated? I just watered it yesterday.

Narrator 2: He then realized that his crops had all dried out and died because of the hot
weather.

Father: It must have been the hot summer weather that caused all of my crops to dry out and
die. But if my crops became dehydrated because of the hot temperatures today, does that
mean? Oh no! I must see how they are doing.

Narrator 1: After which, he went to the barnyard to check on his animals to see if they are doing
well. When he got to the barnyard, it appeared as if the animals were all dehydrated.
--
Then, he went to the garden and saw that the plants were also drying up all because of the hot
weather.

Father: Let me ask my son about this, he’s an expert on agriculture so he must know how to fix
this.

Narrator 2: The father rushes to their house to find his son and asked him about the current
situation of their crops and agriculture.

Father: Son!

Son: Yes dad? (pretending to clean while he answers)

Father: Son, something bad happened in our farm and in our barnyard.

Son: Wait, what happened?

Father: It seemed like the plants and the animals were all getting dehydrated, you’re an expert
in Agriculture so you must know what to do right?

Son: Oh don’t worry dad, we can place mulch under the soil and water the plants more.

Father: How about the livestock?

Son: We can just give our livestock more water.

Father: Thank you son! But I have a question, why is it getting hotter and hotter especially in
summers?

Son: You see dad, we have this so-called Global Warming which causes the Greenhouse Effect
to enhance, making the earth warmer and warmer. The main cause of this is pollution, like
burning fossil fuels. So we should avoid using too much of these as a way to reduce pollution.

Dad: That makes a lot of sense but, what exactly is the Greenhouse Effect?
Son: The Greenhouse Effect is when gases in the atmosphere trap the Sun’s heat making the
earth warmer than it would be without an atmosphere.

Father: Oh. Now I get it. Thank you, son!

Son: Welcome father! Is it fine if I also help in taking care of our crops?

Father: Of course!

Narrator 1: After the son explained the cause of the dehydration of the plants and animals, the
two of them both left the house and went to their land to water the plants, place mulch under the
soil of the crops, and take care of their livestock.

Narrator 2: Night came and almost everyone was asleep. Another tree seemed to have fallen
down near a forest, and the dogs howled again. The reason these 2 trees fell is because of a
lumberjack cutting them down to get wood and sell to others. Deforestation can also cause
Global Warming to worsen as trees balance the amount of Carbon Dioxide in the atmosphere.
