Volleyball is initiated in USA in 1895
By Mr. William G. Morgan – a YMCA physical education director
In 1964, it became part of the regular program of the Olympic Games
In the beginning it is called “Mintonette” and change it to “Volleyball”
On July 7, 1896 at Springfield College the first game of “volleyball” was played
Played by two teams of six player
BASIC RULES IN PLAYING VOLLEYBALL:
A. Start of the game
- toss coin determines the serving and receiving
- maximum of three hits per side
B. Playing the ball
- the team is allowed three touches in order to return the ball to the opponent
- players in back right corner will serve the ball
- you can rotate the players around the court so that you will have a new server
C. Timeout
- each teams get two timeouts per set
D. Scoring
- rally point system will be used
E. The Libero
- libero is a member of the team wearing uniform
