Proposed Solutions for DELHI ITMS

A. Traffic Signal System: Integration of CDAC’s Adaptive Traffic Control System

with ARS’s Traffic Data analytical system for improved traffic management.

B. Emergency Vehicle priority system – Enabled with GPS enabled Vehicle

Mounted Units [VMU] and Controller Counterpart to ensure smooth movement
of VIP/Emergency vehicles.

C. Traffic Enforcement System: Non- intrusive traffic enforcement systems such

as
a. Redlight Violation Detection System & Stop line violation detection system
using Overview and ANPR cameras
b. Spot Speed Violation detection using 2D radar and ANPR
c. Average Speed Violation Detection using ANPR technology
d. Wrong way driving detection
e. Unauthorized parking detection
f. ANPR- Hot -listing and Traffic Surveillance
g. Generating e-Challan by integrating with Vahan-Sarathi or existing E-
challan system

D. ORBIS Incident Detection Systems -Camera based incident detection to alert

the upcoming traffic and control room. System detects the counter flow, slow
moving and stopped vehicles in a highway and alert the authorities to avoid
undesirable incidents at highways.

E. ORBIS Sensoring Sensors –Collects the real-time data from multiple sensors
and use for traffic management, guidance, and decision-making purposes.
Virtual loop detection technologies using camera and radar shall be evaluated
for collecting traffic parameters like count, classified volumes, speed, queue
length.

F. Access control System – To control to access of vehicle to congested areas or

restricted area using ANPR and classification solutions.

G. Clean Air Zone: The entry of polluted vehicles to environmentally friendly area
is controlled or monitored using ANPR scanning and in Integration with RTO and
PUC database.

H. Traffic Guidance: Ensure information dissemination though Variable Message

Signs (VMS), Speed Sign boards, IP Based PA System, Mobile App and social
media, based on the data collected by ORBIS -Sensoring system and data
analytics done by ARS analytical engine.

I. Accident Response System – Enables timely medical assistance to the accident

victim by means of computer aided dispatch of ambulance to the accident spot
and then to hospital via the dynamic route created by ARS T&TT’s Accident
Response System,

J. Special Transport Planner: Enable route planning of fleets carrying abnormal

loads and coordinated with traffic controller and other responsible stake
holders.
