Computer Parts
Broadly speaking, computers are divided into two types:

Portable, such as laptops, tablet PCs, netbooks and the like.

Desktops
In this article, WinPoin will focus on explaining the components of a desktop computer, which
in general are not much different from laptops, netbooks, etc.

Without further ado, here are the parts of a computer and their functions and explanations.

Computer Case
Computer Parts and Their Functions

Computer casing (case) is the part that becomes the "house" for most of the computer
components. The majority of desktop PCs have a casing box either plastic or metal. But for
AIO (all-in-one) PCs, this computer case is designed to be concise and often blends directly
into the monitor screen.

Besides being a place for the majority of computer components, the casing also protects
these components from dust and so on.

Power Supply
Computer Parts and Their Functions

The Power Supply Unit (PSU) is a component that converts AC current electricity into low
voltage DC, so that it can be used as a power source for all computer components.

Motherboards
Computer Parts and Their Functions

Motherboard is an integrated circuit board which is the main component of a computer. The
function of the motherboard is to connect all the main computer components such as CPU,
RAM, CD/DVD-ROM, hard disk/SSD, as well as various ports and expansion slots.

Computer components that are placed directly on the motherboard include:

1.CPU / Processor
Computer Parts and Their Functions
The CPU (Central Processing Unit) or better known as the processor is the brain of the
computer. The CPU is in charge of calculating every command that is executed on the
computer. To prevent overheating, the CPU is usually equipped with a heatsink and fan.
Some CPUs are also equipped with a water cooling system. Various modern CPUs are now
equipped with a GPU (Graphic Processing Unit).

2.Chipsets
Computer Parts and Their Functions
Its function is as a communication link between the CPU and other computer components,
such as RAM.

3.RAM / Memory

RAM (Random Access Memory) task is to store data and various processes so that it can be
accessed very quickly by the CPU or other computer components. Ideally, the greater the
amount of RAM, the faster the computer will be because the greater the RAM capacity to
store data and processes.
Video Card / GPU / VGA / Graphics card

A graphics card or what is commonly called VGA / GPU / Video Card is a computer
component that is in charge of processing graphics. The majority of computer users only
need an internal (integrated) GPU, but gamers, animators, designers, etc. need a dedicated
GPU that has a large capacity so it can process heavy graphics.

4.ROMS
Computer Parts and Their Functions
ROM (Read-Only Memory) is where the BIOS firmware and settings are stored. Most of the
latest modern computers now use UEFI and no longer use BIOS.

5.CMOS battery
Computer Parts and Their Functions
This CMOS battery provides power for the BIOS chip, so BIOS settings and dates are not
lost and remain current even when the computer is turned off.

6.BUSES
This is a slot that can connect various cards such as external Graphic Cards and Sound
Cards to the motherboard.

almost all motherboards have

This is all I can conclude about the computer parts and their functions

That is all and thank you
