The reason why the researchers conduct this study is to know the Effects of Code

Switching to the Communication Skills of the Students in the University of Rizal System
- Cainta Campus. Since this study is qualitative by nature, only the selected college
students at University Of Rizal System Cainta Campus for the school year 2023-2024
will represent the population. This study employs Quantitative research using survey
questionnaires as a mode of gathering information of the researchers This study is
limited only for a certain number of students per year level regardlessly of courses, thus,
not all students will be included.

        This study focuses on the potential effects of code switching on the communication
skills of the students. Nevertheless, the said institution’s college students will be using
stratified sampling techniques to collect data and use the strategy to answer the
researchers’ research question about the relationship between code switching and
communication skills. 

Furthermore, the researchers believe that the respondents were all appropriate for
this study because as observed all the students are taking English related subject
areas.  The researchers will conduct the time duration for this study in the second
semester of the academic year 2023-2024.

Significance of the Study

This study would be beneficial primarily to students, teachers, school heads, and
future researchers on the following respects:

Students 

That might take up a communication or language course. This research would serve as
a reference in their future discussion in terms of code switching. In addition, the study
would serve as a means for the students to know the effects of code-switching
throughout the years and its relevance to communication skills. This study could also
help students to deeply understand the code-switching that is being used in daily
discourse.
